The Copper Queens have departed Kampala for Ndola as they begin preparations for Tuesday’s decisive second leg of their 2028 Los Angeles Olympic qualifier against Uganda.
The Zambian team will connect through Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, at 04:55 before continuing their journey to Ndola.
They are expected to arrive at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport at 11:55 on Friday, 9 October, before setting up camp ahead of the return fixture.
Zambia face an uphill task after losing the first leg 2-1 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, in Kampala on Thursday.
Prisca Chilufya gave the Copper Queens an early lead, but Agness Nabukenya equalised with a superb free-kick before Sylvia Kabene completed Uganda’s comeback in the second half.
The Copper Queens must now overturn the one-goal deficit on home soil to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games alive.
The return leg will be played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Tuesday, 13 October, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00.
