Copper Queens Confident Ahead of Morocco Clash

Copper Queens duo Mercy Chipasula and Goalkeeper Mwila Mafunte are confident the team will get their WAFCON campaign off to a winning way against Morocco.

The duo will be among players making their WAFCON debut with the Copper Queens.

Chipasula who is also part of the Under 17 preparing for the World Cup says the experience at the WAFCON will help in preparation for the world junior showpiece.

Speaking in an interview from the team’s base in Morocco, Chipasula said she is excited to be part of the WAFCON as she wants to build on the experience earned at the 2024 Dominican Republic World Cup.

Zambia will face Morocco in the opening match on Saturday.
