2012 AFCON winner Francis Kasonde has been appointed as head coach at English lower tier side AFC Austell.
Association Football Club St Austell is a football club based in St Austell, Cornwall. They play in the Western League Premier Division.
The Club took to social media to confirm the appointment of the former Chipolopolo defender.
“We are pleased to announce a new addition to the Coaching team. Joining as a Coach is 2012 African Cup of Nations Winner Francis Kasonde.With his considerable experience in the Pro game, Francis will be a fantastic addition.”
Kasonde made 39 appearances for the Copper Bullets and played in four AFCON tournaments (2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013)
He won the 2012 African Cup of Nations and also won bronze at the 2009 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
During his playing career he turned out for Nkwiza, Power Dynamos, Mufulira Wanderers, Al-Suwaiq, (Oman) Al Hazem, Sabath, Salgaocar (Both Malasyia), TP Mazembe (DR Congo).
