The Copper Queens have arrived in Morocco for a camp ahead of the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) Tournament to run from July 2-23.
The Copper Queens arrived a few minutes after midnight as they look to fine-tune themselves for their quest to conquer the continent.
The players flew out from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Wednesday, 15th June connecting through Dubai and Paris.
Before the AWCON, the team will have a series of international friendlies starting with an entertaining fixture against Morocco set for 18 June at the Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.
Zambia will be based in Casablanca for the group stages, which will see the Copper Queens face Cameroon, Tunisia, and Togo in Group B.
The Top four teams at the AWCON which will run from July 3-23 in Morocco will qualify for the World Cup that will be held in Australia and New Zealand next year.
Two more teams will be involved in play-offs with teams from other continents.
