The Zambia U-17 Women’s national team will be looking to start on winning note when they welcome Cameroon in a World Cup qualifier.
The Copper Princesses will be aiming for their second ever World Cup qualification.
Zambia made their maiden appearance at the showpiece back in 2014 with the likes of Hazel Nali, Mary Wilombe, Grace Chanda and Barbra Banda leading the team.
Coach Kaluba Kangwa declared his lasses ready for the match with skipper Lubasi Pumulo confident of a win this afternoon.
The Princesses are looking to build on their success at the 2021 Region V games where they won gold.
Kaluba Kangwa has named a strong squad with Pataaki Girls duo of Jessy Zulu and Blessings Zangose Zulu leading the attack.
Lubasi Pumulo, Gracious Tailoshi and Bupe Banda will provide the creative spark with Roydah Ng’andu protecting the back four.
Two time COSAFA U-17 Women’s Championship best goalkeeper, Chitete Musanka will start between the sticks with Monica Mutisa, Esther Musialela, Theresa Musatila and Luty Kamanga making up the back four.
Zambia hosts Cameroon this afternoon in the first leg, third round encounter in the India 2022 FIFA World Cup that takes place in October.
Tickets for the match are on sale at Omega Mall in Northmead at the Webtickets outlet. Ordinary tickets are fetching at K20 while VIP access is at K50.
The match will be played at Nkoloma Stadium with the return leg set for April 30.
Winner over two legs will qualify to the next round where they will play either Burundi or Tanzania.
