Clifford having trials at Orlando Pirates

Zambian midfielder, Clifford Mulenga, is currently training with Orlando Pirates with a view of impressing Coach Eric Tinkler and his technical team.

The former Bidvest Wits and Ajax Cape Town player will be training with the Buccaneers for an indefinite period of time, as he aims at landing a PSL contract with the Soweto giants.

A source said that the 28-year-old was involved in a club friendly after starting training with the team on Monday.

“He started training on Monday and he still looks good,” the source said.

“You can see he has shown he still has it in him as he has been playing in the friendly game today. We have to wait and see what will happen now.”?

Mulenga has made 124 appearances in the Premier Soccer League for six different clubs, scoring 22 goals and making 19 assists.

Meanwhile the Soccerladuma story has been confirmed after Clifford was spotted featuring for Pirates. Lucky Lekgwathi was back in action and Clifford Mulenga donned the jersey as Orlando Pirates beat Atletico Petro de Luanda on Tuesday morning.

A solitary goal from Multichoice Diski Challenge striker Letsie Koapeng in the second half earned the Buccaneers victory against the Angolan side.

In the first half, Eric Tinkler fielded a full strength side in preparation for this weekend’s Soweto Derby, before giving fringe players and trialists a run in the second half.

Yasser Mugerwa was also in action, as was Sifiso Myeni.
