ZPL Men’s National League side Aguila Stars have announced the appointment of 2012 AFCON winner Chisamba Lungu as a player coach.
The former FC Ura also held the same duo roles at Atletico Lusaka back in 2023 before his return to Russia in June last year.
He was attached with Vista (while undertaking a coaching course)which is one of the top academies in Russia and has sister clubs in Armenia and Bulgaria.
Lungu is expected to support the technical development and mentoring of Aguilar Stars junior sides while remaining available for first-team duties.

Chisamba Lungu joins the Eagles with a distinguished career at the highest levels of African and European football, more than 40 international caps, and a pivotal role in Zambia’s historic 2012 Africa Cup of Nations triumph. He will support the technical development and mentoring of our junior sides while remaining available for first-team duties.

Chisamba has previously played for Zanaco, Nkana, Buildcon, Nkwazi on the local scene.
He spent over 8 years in Eastern Europe at Baia Zugdidi and Ural. He started his career at Kafue FC before loan spells at Zanaco.
After his European adventure, he returned home and had spells at Buildcon, Nkana and Zanaco.He is considered as one of the most talented players of his generation.
Chisamba was a vital member of the Herve Renard coached Chipolopolo side that won AFCON in 2012 co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
