Chipolopolo to fly straight to Equatorial Guinea

The Zambia national team will fly straight to Equatorial Guinea from the training base in Johannesburg South Africa.

FAZ had earlier announced that the national team would fly back home before proceeding to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament but Zambianfootball.co.zm understands that the team will fly straight to Ebebiyin where they will be based for the tournament group stage.

The players who were dropped from the final team that will play at the tournament were released this weekend.

Meanwhile, the team yesterday spent time shaping up in the gym with as they wind-up their training camp in South Africa.

Zambia will tomorrow play another friendly match with a local club though there is a possibility of the team engaging Bundesliga side Hoffenheim who are in South Africa for their winter break camp.

The Chipolopolo are expected in Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday, 14th January, 2015 ahead of their opening match against Congo DR on the 18th of January.

  1. It appears we have players who are injury prone especially in defense(sunzu and Kondwani). This is very worrying. Of late each time sunzu plays for Zambia he gets injured and before the game ends he is limping and visibly struggling.

  2. They should leave for Guinea days before the first game to acclimatize and also give us fans some confidence considering we know that between FAZ and the sports ministry there is the possibility that no one has lifted a finger yet to arrange for the players flights or even has any knowledge of the quality of accommodation in Ebebiyin.

  3. I have said this and i will say it again. This is one of the most weakest teams that we have ever had in 50 years. On top of that, they are so prone to injuries. They are lacking match fitness. They also have not played enough friendly matches which is a cause for concern as well.

    • This guy is so Negative!shit! naka zungu kako ( calling a spade a spade and not a big spoon– where ever you learnt it from–its now boring)all the players you are crying for were in the team in 2013 ACON. what did they achieve? to the contrary this is the best team ever assembled. i cant wait to see your comment when the team performs! grow up!

      • Moore K or whatever you call yourself. You must be out of your mind to think that this is the best team we have ever assembled. I can see that you are still a toddler to think like that. The current team is very weak and will be BOOTED out in the first round. Get that in your head!

My predications are a draw with congo DR, A win against Tunisia and Cape Verde . we are qualifying with 7 points and 1/4 Finals 1st Group B(Zambia) 20:00 vs 2nd Group A with a 3-2 win. 1/2 Finals Winner 25(Zambia) 20:00 vs Winner 28 with a win 5-4 on penalties. Winner 29(Zambia) 20:00 vs Winner 30 with a goal from Sate Sate and Zambia will be crowned 2015 AFCON Champions which is will be a repeat of 2012 and we will prove to the world that we are not fluke champions like some west who failed to qualify just after winning a dubious AFCON. If you think am dreaming then you should be aware that dreams come true! Chipolopolo iyeee , Chipolopolo iyeee….
