Chipolopolo regroup as Sven drops Kapumbu

The Zambia national team has regrouped ahead of the must win away match against Mozambique to be played next week.

A check at the Futsal Arena by the ZamFoot Crew reviewed that all the 25 local players who include players from the U20 class of 2017 had reported to camp.

All the local players who were part of the team that played against Guinea Bissau have been retained apart from Fackson Kapumbu and Gideon Sichone. Kapumbu had made the left back position his own before the arrival of coach Sven Vandebroeck.

The former U20 national team players who have been called to camp to join their skipper Solomon Sakala who has been part of the team include Joseph Phiri, Shemmy Mayembe, Boyd Musonda, Benson Kolala and current U20 national team striker Francisc Mwepu.

Coach Sven Vandebroeck will name the final squad of local players at the end of the week before the team travels to South Africa for where they will camp before proceeding to Mozambique. The foreign based players will join the team in South Africa.

  1. I watched a clip of the women’s team against Ghana in a friendly. We have a wonderful striker who even scored a hat trick. Surely she does much better than those strikers in the mens team that are so wasteful in front of goal!
