The Zambia national team will be aiming to make it a record six COSAFA Cup titles when they take on the Brave Warriors of Namibia in the final of the HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Cup 2022 final at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Namibia beat Mozambique in the semifinal while the Copper Bullets saw off guest side, Senegal in a dramatic seven goal thriller.
Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba was the main man in the semifinal with a brace to his name and being involved in the other two goals.
Kampamba was named the player of the match and he is expected to be Aljosa Asanovic’s best bet at unlocking the Namibia defense.
Cyril Mwenya Chibwe conceded three goals in the semifinal and it will be interesting to see if either Charles Kalumba or Lawrence Mulenga can displace him.
Benedict Chepeshi, Allan Kapila, Dominic Chanda and Luka Chamanga are expected to make up the back four.
Kelvin Kapumbu, Prince Mumba and Patrick Gondwe are expected to partner in the middle of the park with Ricky Banda leading the attack.
The brave warriors who have one Cosafa title to their credit will be looking to add their second since their 2015 crown.
Zambia last won the tournament back in 2019 under Green Eagles boss Aggrey Chiyangi with Lazarus Kambole, Bruce Musakanya, Sebastian Mwange, Austin Muwowo, and Tapson Kaseba as the key players.
Today’s match will be streamed via COSAFA.TV, SABC Sport and FIFA+ and also on SuperSport tv.
Kickoff is at 19H00 while the third and fourth play-off between Senegal and Mozambique will be at 15H30 CAT.
