Daka scores his first goal in preseason

Patson Daka scored his first goal in preseason as Leicester City fought back from two goals down to force a 3-3 draw with Belgian side, OH Leuven.

After a week of intense training in Évian-les-Bains, the Foxes made the hour-long flight to the beautiful city of Leuven to tackle sister club, OH Leuven in their second preseason friendly match.

Mousa Al-Tamari put the hosts in the lead within 30 seconds with fine finish.

Nachon Nsigi made it 2-0 in the 12th minute benefiting from a miscommunication between Daniel Iversen and a defender to score from close range.

Leicester City then took over the show with Harvey Barnes pilling pressure on the left wing.

James Madison saw his shot fly just inches above the crossbar before Barnes was denied by a brilliant save.

Then, the winger stood the ball up to Pérez at the far post, and the Spaniard connected well with a header, however he couldn’t beat Cojocaru.

Barnes came close again as he beat his man and curled towards the bottom corner, but Cojocaru made the save, and then Daka pounced on the loose ball only for his strike to be blocked on the line.

Leicester reduced their deficit to a single goal just six minutes into the second half thanks to a brilliantly-executed goal from Kierian Dewsbury-Hall. KDH picked the ball up, drove forward and curled into the bottom corner with his left boot.

Patson Daka leveled matters seven minutes later, Soumaré won a free-kick which Madison took immediately and a superb pass located the head of Daka, who nodded in for 2-2, after which he was withdrawn.

Brendan Rogers introduced a new XI skippered by Vardy, allowing 22 players to gather 60 minutes of match action each in the two hour match.

Leuven were back in front in the 91st minute after Daniel Amartey was dispossessed and Mykola Kukharevych slotted in a finish finish on the near post.

Leicester however drew level in the 101st minute with Jamie Vardy pouncing on a loose ball with the area to make it 3-3, and that’s how it ended at King Power at Den Dreef Stadion.
