The 18-member Chipolopolo legends squad coached by veteran trainer Patrick Phiri is ready for tomorrow’s clash with their Malawian counterparts set for the newly refurbished David Kaunda Stadium in Chipata.
Phiri will have an array of greats at his disposal for the historic clash with former Malawi greats that comprises the likes of Esau Kanyenda, Patrick Mabedi, Jimmy Zakazaka, Joseph Kamwendo, Fisher Kondowe, Russel Mwafulirwa and Bob Mpinganjira.
The Zambian squad has 2012 AFCON winning skipper Christopher Katongo, Danny Munyao, Kalilolo Kakonje, Billy Mwanza, Clive Hachilensa, Hichani Himoonde, Fackson Kapumbu, Jimmy Chisenga, Justin Zulu and Kennedy Nketani.
Others are Jonas Sakuwaha, Given Singuluma, Fwayo Tembo, Felix Katongo, Nchimunya, Mweetwa, Clifford Mulenga, Ignitius Lwipa and Kenneth ‘Bubble’ Malitoli.
Malitoli will double as assistant to ‘Big Pa’ on the technical bench.
The legends clash has been organized as part of celebrations for the 59th independence anniversary for Zambia.
FAZ Eastern Province are the key drivers of the match that will also be a celebration of the historic ties between the two countries.
