Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka lost for words after Leicester City’s relegation

Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka took to social media for the first time since Leicester City’s relegation to share his disappointment following an underwhelming season for the Foxes.

Daka was lost for words after the Foxes became the second team to drop to the English Championship after the Saints.

The Zambian international was quick to thank the fans for their support despite the Foxes ‘not deserving it’ at times.

He has however vowed to work hard with his teammates to bring back the team to the elite league, the English Premier League.

“It’s difficult to express how to feel right now but I wanted to take a moment to thank the fans for your support this season, even when we didn’t deserve it,” Daka posted on his social media.

“We didn’t show enough, but we will work together and do our best to bring this club back to where it belongs.”

Daka and his Leicester City teammates were relegated for the second time in three seasons after losing 1-0 against Liverpool at King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, who took over after Steve Cooper was dismissed in November, has managed just eight points from his 20 Premier League games in charge.

Leicester were 16th in the Premier League, one point above the relegation zone, when Cooper departed but the 2016 Premier League champions are the first side in top-flight history to go nine consecutive home games without scoring a goal under the Dutchman.
