Chipolopolo enter second day of training

The Zambia national team has today entered the second day of training ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea Bissau to be played in West Africa.

The Chipolopolo go in the tie knowing that a loss will leave them hoping for a back-door qualification as the best second placed team.

George Lwandamina has a full house of the local players expected in camp after the Zanaco players delayed their arrival which saw them miss the recovery session on Monday.

Second choice goalkeeper Jacob Banda ruled out after he was given a long medical leave by his cub.

Lwandamina has summoned two more players to his team in Steward Chikandiwa of Nkwazi and Webster Mulenga from Red Arrows.

Chikandiwa has been in great form from Nkwazi dating back to last season when he was instrumental in helping Nkwazi to the finals of the Barclays Cup. He has carried his form to 2016 and currently has scored 5 goals in the league helping Nkwazi to a 6th place standing on the log.

Mulenga formerly of Nakambala has settled well at Red Arrows and has come in to cover for Adrian Chama who is not available for training this week.

Foreing based players summoned to camp are expected to start trooping in this week as most foreign league have come to a conclusion.

The Chipolopolo will leave for Lome over the weekend where they will play Togo in an international friendly match next week on the 27th of May.

The team will then proceed to Guinea Bissau for the must win encounter to be played on Saturday 4th June, 2016.

The squad is training at Trade Fair grounds in Ndola.

Zambia is third on the qualifying log level on points with Congo Brazaville and a point behind Guinea Bissau with two rounds of matches to play.

  1. George lwandimina should be serious with the players that is calling to the national team if zambia failed to qualify he will be held responsible walter bwalya chris munthari should be in this team

    • Is Walter Bwalya Zambian? Chris Muthari has been given some time to gain match fitness after serving a two month suspension. But Generally am not happy with the team selection… How do you pick players who dont even score for their clubs?

  2. Is Zamfoot saying Guinea Bissau is in West Africa? Well Zambia has so far seemed good in away games shown by coming back strongly always from being led. Bissau dont score much and dont concede easily too. I dont see Zambia winning this one. But the real deal in is your last game against a profligate Kenya side. Well we are wrapping ours against Mauritius where they’ve beaten Rwanda and Mozambique so far and are yet to concede. No complacency jooor. For THOSE SUPER GREEN VULTURES. THEY HAVE STARTED WORLD CUP PREPARATIONS. DONT JOIN THEM CHIPO cause Gabon gonna be fun

  3. I,m also suprised as to why the coach didnt call Walter Bwalya, he deserves a call, he is doing well for Nkana.

  4. Kikikikikik!!!!!@ CHU, hard lucky my Broda, don’t worry now nhee! You see, yours are not Super Vultures, they are SUPER Broiler ChickenS, this one go suit them well well broda!kikikiki!!! Such is african football, I still don’t understand why nigeria with all that talent has failed to qualify. Don’t worry though, we will teach Bissau a lesson, they will know that copper bullets are dangerous to their football. Go Zambia Go!!!

  5. Power coach was fired …among the reasons he thot he could squeeze water from a stone patson daka ..he used to bench Kelvin mubanga for the boy …the results fired at power… Now u call him for the national team.

  6. the local call up is not up to our expectations, honestly why the hell should the coach keep on calling Patson Daka &not Walter Bwalya ?or does Daka scored so far more goals than him, corruption will destroy our national team&we will be a roughing stock in Africa.there many local strikers who can deliver.Even Luchanga is not good enough to be in this team.

  7. Festus ,should not be in this team.We should have coaches for each position in the field in order to come up with a strong team for the national team.Zambia is big enough to get players from all angles of the Nation, not always seeing amapulanga in the team.

  8. I expect the Coach to be unbiased and call the best that We have in Professionals and Local players, I feel the mentality of Zambians as a whole including players needs to change if we are to go further in soccer as a Nation…… Gooooooooooo Chipolopolo Gooooooooooo!!!!!!

  9. ZAMFOOT- kindly edit the date for the next National team game. Or double so that the right date is reflected. Thanks.
