Chipolopolo camp update: Mayuka, Nkausu, Chisamba and Chamanga jet in

Zambia national team coach Honour Janza will be more than satisfied with Chipolopolo players response to his call for national duty after he welcomed Emmanuel Mayuka, Davies Nkausu, Chisamba Lungu and James Chamanga to the national team camp.

The four have joined the 13 local players who have been in camp since Saturday to take the number of players who trained this morning at Sunset stadium to 16.

Janza will also be comforted that all the other players have confirmed having left their bases heading to Lusaka.

TP Mazembe trio of Given Singuluma, Rainford Kalaba and Kabaso Chongo will be in camp today. The trio confirmed to the ZamFoot Crew this morning after crossing the Congo border into Zambia that they would be proceeding to Lusaka. Kabaso and Kalaba were in action for Mazembe over the weekend.

Lubambo Musonda, Nathan Sinkala, Aaron Katebe and captain Stopilla Sunzu are all expected today including Kennedy Mweene.

Israeli based duo of Evans Kangwa and Emmanuel Mbola left Israel today and are expected to be in the country on Tuesday.

The other players already in camp are;

Goalkeepers: Toaster Nsabata, Danny Munyao

Defenders: Christopher Munthali, Donashano Malama, Nyambe Mulenga

Midfielders: Bruce Musakanya, Shadreck Malambo, Rodrick Kabwe, Charles Zulu, Spencer Sautu, Changwe Kalale

Strikers: Patrick Ngoma, Ronald Kampamba

Updates

  1. Janza should practice on the artificial turf, because in Maputo the surface is artificial. This is very important to prepare our team on that artificial turf. Can somebody advise on this,is independence stadium with artificial turf? It was going to be gud because its difficult to play on artificial turf the flow and bounce of the ball is different from normal glass

    • @ Germiston South, we have an artificial turf at Independo and at the Olympic Youth Training Centre next to the 2 stadia. So training on an artificial one is no problem for Zambia.
I am sure the crew know what stadium they will be playing on in Mozambique.
And hopefully they will train accordingly.

  2. Its good to be back on this wonderful site again.

Back to soccer business, the team looks good and young but the inclusion of James Chamanga is the only questionable case by the coach. I think its time we move forward with our team selection not bring back old guys like Chamanga and many more like Chris Katongo, Jacob Mulenga, Hichani Himoonde, Isaac Chansa, Joseph Musonda, Collins Mbesuma, Noah Chivuta cause their time has already gone its time to give chance to upcoming players like Lubambo Musonda, Bruce Musakanya, Evans kangwa, Mukula Mulenga, Bonwel Mwape etc and mix them with the experience but not old guys, like Rainford Kalaba, Chisamba Lungu, Stophila Sunzu, Nathan Sinkala, Emmanuel Mayuka and Kennedy Mweene if he still can play few more years. We can also give chance to some guys to prove them selves, players that have not been given more chance due to various reasons in the National Team like Given Singulima, Emmanuel Mbola, Aaron Katebe, Rogas Kola, Nyambe Mulenga, Fwayo Tembo, etc

This culture of calling retired leges will just littered our progress will just be on the same level again and again

Let’s cross our hearts for these two games we qualify to the next Afcon

  3. wht wz th reason of janza calling chamanga in th first place, i think some old player giv some of there allowances to th coaches. coz every tym chamanga is called he evn fail to shoot even a single ball at th goal yet they keep on calling him. he only perform in china, i think chinese league is nt as tough as any african country. evans wz called bcoz people questioning janza on wht method is he using to select players, there wz no reason living player lik evans in place of chamanga and tht ngoma boy.

  4. While a new broom sweeps well, the old broom knows the corners of the house.DON’T talk too much ChAMANGA MAY WIN Us the game in MAPUTO.

  5. A good coach will always find a way to get the best out of his players, play to the strength of the players. Jacob is the hottest striker goals right now and has always managed to score when he has played for Zambia. Injuries over the years have been his only downfall but it seems that he has a new lease on life. 7 goals in 9 games is an impressive feat and which one of our young guns right now can lay claim to such a hot streak? Yet James chamanga is the “senior” striker called up……? what is wrong with this picture? Kudo’s to Jacob for accepting the decision of the coach and not making a big fuss about it, let Janza do as he please with the team its his head that people will call for when this thing crumbles…..!! The strikers who should have been called up are as follows: Jacob(experience), Kola(deserves a look), Mayuka(Experience), Sate Sate(youth) and Kangwa (youth).

  6. Chamanga on his day can win any team a match, and u like it or not on his day, not one of these new boys can equal him! Let him teach something to these new boys. U dont change everything overnight please!

  7. If Chamanga is partnerd with Jacob Mulenga, he performs well. Those 2 are tall and cause havock in the box when Zambia takes a coner kick. But Chamanga cant peform better with those u-20 chaps whom he could even fathered.
I like Chamanga especialy what he did for Zambia in afcon 2010, but I support the idea that he get dropped permanently from Zambia team. He is too old & aged not less than 45.

  8. Since Mweene is not, I will propose a starting line-up like this;
    1 Danny Munyao
    2 Emmanuel Mbola
    3 Davies Nkausu
    4 Nyambe Mulenga
    5 Stopila Sunzu
    6 Donashano Malama
    7 Sate Sate
    8 Nathan Sinkala
    9 Evance Kangwa
    10 Rainford Kalaba
    11 Chisamba Lungu
Donashano & Sinkala as defensive midfielders while Kalaba and Chisamba as attacking midfielders. 4-4-2. Introduce Mayuka in 60′ for either Kangwa or Sate Sate. Mozambique 0-3 Zambia, in Kampala Uganda 4-0 ??????.

  9. Guys are sleeping on Mozambique. They are a highly talented side. Especially at home. They brushed aside Cape Verde with some fast football and 2 very well built goals. Zambia beat Niger off of 3 defensive errors. Dreaming of 3-0 shorelines is under rating a very good side. Zambia will have to play the game of their lives in Moputo. I just hope the team selection, tactics, and players are up to the task. I would even suggest slowing the game down, but Zambia does not have the defensive fortitude to do so.

  10. The more I look at Janza ‘ s team the more I think he is trying to play fast pace game against s fast pace team. I think it is not very smart, but we’ll see.

  11. ‘Mozambique 0-3 Zambia, in Kampala Uganda 4-0 ??????’. coward like u,If u arent hallucinating then u r having sleepless nite about the name Ghana,COWARDS DIE MYRIAD OF TIMES.

  12. On the flip side,y r countries bent on qualifying for this drab cup of nations when the host is even not known,African soccer?smh.

  13. Guys lets stick to the game.should the coach start sinkala despite his decreasing form? Upfront,i think mayuka, kangwa and singuluma should start, with kalaba and, lubambo and chisamba while sate sate, musakanya and chamanga can come in later.i wonder what formation can accomodate these while combating mozambique game

  14. I still insist Nathan is second class to Malama currently due to lack of game time. However, Malama should start playing full 90 minutes faining injuries when tired!

    • Malama feins injuries when he is tired, Sinkala is off form! Between the two who should start? This is were Janza needs to make a proper assessment of the two and read the game properly from the touch line. Please no room for trial and error!

  15. Ghana got a whooping eleven million dollars from participating in 2014 world cup, tell me what Zambia got after winning that useless Afcon. I guess $1,500 000…village champions.hahahaha
Now tell me which ohe is better

  16. This match has so much at stake for both teams. As a result I expect it will be a very tactical battle wirh both teams wanting to draw first blood but without opening up at the back. It’s the type of match Zambia has to start with a 4-5-1 formation (which is basically a 4-2-3-1).
No one should kid themselves thinking the Mambas will be a walkover for Zambia. They’ll be home, the crowd will urge them to attack relentless. This is why I’m not expecting a wow performance from Zambia. Rather I expect Zambia to play as a solid and well disciplined unit that will attack and defend as a block. Discipline will be key if we are to get a result in this match. All said and done, I hope I can be forgiven for saying I have high expectations on Kalaba and Chisamba Lungu to unlock the Mambas’ back line. As the legendary late Dennis Liwewe (MHSRIP) would say, Go boys fight and conquer!!!

  17. the last timed i checked, all the major powerhouses of African football have hosted that drab tournament once or more, which is left?,none but the pretenders.no country shd host it for some pretenders to come and vent their players starvation on their economies,if u think u have arrived, host the whole of africa ,even countries like burkina, mali, senegal,Angola who r second grades have hosted it ,only minnows r yet to host yet they r the most empty barrels with the most noise

    • But some so called power houses failed to win it on Home soil, despite all the home support, i think we have only 3 power houses in Africa, EGYPT, NIGERIA & CAMEROON the rest are no better than ZAMBIA. Win the afcon in the 21st century first then we will recognize u as a power house, not some useless 4 team tournament that was won even before u were born.

  18. am sure it took u three hours to come up with wat u have jst written. call it drab. yo team is jst a first level grade failure wen it comes to wining the afcon in modern times.

  19. @john, remember how i told you mayuka is not a premier league material??shane long, mane, rodriguez, and pelle are all better strikers than mayuka. Epl is all about reputation and mayuka has none.

  20. That boy saido mane from senegal has moved ahead of mayuka in southapton perking order, which is another proof that west africa rules.

    • shane long was given almost 10 games before he scored a goal would mayuka ever be given such a chance. Mayuka would have scored within 3 games.

  23. Hahaha Senegal with their best team on paper is just the kind of opponents we like meeting in Africa’s bigger soccer event. By the way has Senegal ever won the AFCON ( 16 teams battling for the ultimate prize?? )
Let me even check head to head stats between Zambia n Senegal.

    • @Don, Senegal, Burkina Faso and I think Mali (not sure) have never won the AFCON.
Ghana (3 out of 4), Ethiopia, and Sudan won it over about 60 years ago, somewhere around 1954; 1957, and 1958.
By then only 4 countries were members, reduced to 3 after Sasafrika was banned for introducing Apartheid. Even those of use who are older than Zambia were not yet born.
But as I always say people may not notice the difference.

  24. On a serious note this Mane chap is some serious talent. Ronald Koeman just like he was a shrewd freekick taker in his days as proving a class act coach as results have shown with the Saints 2nd place standing in the EPL and only 4 points behind the master tactician. Mourinho. Koeman for now has got his tactics right with the right team balance.

  26. The name Ghana makes a lot of guys here shit in their boxers paaao, the last time i also checked,it took zambia 48 yrs of hallucination and sleepless nights to win just one cup, guys 48yrs oo,and here they r crying for Ghana who have won 4 times to win one after 33yrs.basic creche maths 48-33=15yrs, so any sound logic man will wait for further 15yrs to blabb rubbish about Ghana.
FACTS they say is SACRED but COMMENT is FREE

  27. instead of strategising for the match you are busy zambia this ghana that. thats why ive stoped comenting. both zambia and ghana wil not win afcon for the next 20 years

  28. How many countries were involved in the AFCON when Ghana won the cup? Only 4 teams and surely u Apes u can boast about that! Over 30 years ago! U ought to be ashamed of yourselves!

    • if ur a lady commenting like this then i feel sorry for uor parents nd husband but if u r a man using this pseudo-name, then u r a coward of cowards.MAGGOT reffering someone as APE.

  29. @ Uncle Bobs well said. We as Zambians are all feeling a bit sorry for Mayuka cause of his lack of game time and his falling so low on the strikers pecking order at the Saints but in all honesty Koemans strategy which does not involve Mayuka has taken the saints to 2nd on the log after almost a third of the league has already been played. Why would he at this point tinker with a winning formula? If Mayuka was as good as Pelle and company he would also have been in Koemans plans. The fact that he is consistently making the bench shows that he is not forgotten to the coach he should just keep working hard he will get that spot. I honestly think his dismal performance in France has also contributed to his drop in the pecking order at the saints. France was a golden opportunity which he honestly did not grab with both hands. He now needs to add more goals for the national team in these two last qualifying games. If he scores at least two goals his club coach will also take more notice and possibly that could open a door for a first team spot.

  30. If I were Janza I would give Lubambo game time because he has qualities which most of our midfielders lack..He has pace coupled with the ability 2 shoot on target from outside the box as evident in the game against japan and his latest goal for his club..

  31. No need to feel sorry for Mayuka, he is in a team that is 2nd in the epl. If they want to get rid of him fine he should go somewhere to get gametime and if the want to keep him i should think they have to play him.

Mayuka is fine at this moment, he is lacking gametime but confidence should be high.

  32. Guys isaac Chansa has retired from international football he has moved on and let us not talk too much we have to qualifier and then we can start talking.

  33. Senegal, Burkina Faso and I think Mali (not sure) have never won the AFCON.
Ghana (3 out of 4), Ethiopia, and Sudan won it about 60 years ago, somewhere around 1954; 1957, and 1958.

South of or on the Equator it is only SA (1x), Zambia (1X), Congo (2X), Congo DR (2X), one being the only final in AFCON history to have been played twice between Zaire Leopards and KK11 (2-2; and after 2 days 2-0)
But as I always say people may not notice the difference.
