Chipolopolo first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene has confirmed that he will be available for selection for this weekend’s Morocco 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Mweene who is expected to join the national team camp today told the ZamFoot Crew just before departure from his base in South Africa today that he will be fit to play against Mozambique.
The Chipolopolo number one has missed his club’s last two games due to a groin injury and his availability will easy pressure on the technical bench who know that Zambia has to avoid a loss to remain in contention for a place at the finals.

Please do be fit. We need all who are eligible.
This is what makes football interesting. Being in tension even when you know you are number 2 and qualifying. Sometimes, you qualify without any qualms, sometimes you struggle to qualify.
What matters is how prepared your team is when they reach the actual finals, how you struggled to go through is immediately forgotten.
In 2012, Senegal qualified top from a group comprising Cameroun, Congo DR and another team I can’t remember. Because of this and the pedigree of their European based stars, they were hyped by the world media as hot favourites. The reality was completely different as they lost all 3 group games by 2-1, and tumbled without a win.
So to the Chipolopolo faithfuls, let the games begin.
If Zambia qualifies for this afcon they will be favorites to go far. The technical bench has already seen that tired legs cant perform. New players like kangwa, sate sate and lubambo musonda will shine on the biggest african stage. My only concern is that Janza may not have what it takes to handle teams like cameroon, algeria or egypt.
We love you mweene, plese help us
John,u r right, thoz Cameroonians r playn vry interesting soccer.evry move they make seams set for the goal.
Dont force it Kennedy, make sure you are a 100% if you are going to play. Forcing it could cost us the game and also cost you a few years on your career.
we need all th players to be 100% fit
I agree wth you on team like cameroon, algeria en Eypt for we don’t beat these teams en their are more fit than us
Mweene has confirmed its now on the medical staff,if he passes the fitness test then he should play on this decider game
Zambia has nothing to lose, from where we started the campaign i would say we have nothing to play for because we were so bad but we have made some adjustments and the chance is there so Zambia can win and go on to The Afcon with confidence.
But be careful how much confidence you place in young players, the players are ready i believe and they themselves have nothing to lose, but they will be tested at Afcon. I have confidence in them but we need a balenced team at the Afcon because that is where the big test lies and you need depth.
History will repeat itself in Maputo, I won’t predict the scoreline but the end of proceedings will see Zambia leave Mozambique with 3pts.
