Late Republican President HE Michael Chilufya Sata who died on 28th October, 2014 has been laid to rest at the Presidential burial site at Embassy Park.
The burial was preceded by a long Requiem ceremony at the National Heroes Stadium attended by senior government officials, foreign dignitaries and Zambian from all walks of life.
The late president was given full military honors with a 21 gun salute and a fly past by the Zambia Air-force at the burial site.
Today will marks the end of the two weeks of national mourning which has been characterised by a sombre mood throughout the nation.
President was the fifth republican president and is the second president to die in power after Levy Mwanawasa.
