The Zambia nation team yesterday arrived in Zimbabwe ahead of the international friendly match against that country.
The Wedson Nyirenda drilled team left for Harare yesterday.
The Chipolopolo who are preparing for a workd cup qualifier match against Cameroom next week will use the game to assess local players who have been in camp for the past week.
Nyirenda is expected to trim his local team on arrival from Harare to accomodate the 10 foreign based players who have been summoned for the game.
Zambia are currently bottom of the world cup qualifying group after losing at home to Nigeria.
A completely different team will play the match against Cameroon. Only 3 local players, Kapumpu, Kondwani and Fwayo will start against Cameroon so what is FAZ assessing? Smh. Play a friendly when everyone is in. Period. For example if the goalkeeper against Zimbabwe shines, is he going to start against Kapalai Mweene? Never!!!!
The Coach can give a chance to any player the will do well to feature against Cameroon…..That is my view and I believe is also NYIRENDA’s philosophy…..We need to assess the Centre Backs in Ziyo and Munthali and pick the one to replace out of form one that started against Nigeria…..Also the Left back where Kabaso played was porious and needs to be re-examined….

Kapumbu played very well. These international friendlies builds confidence in players. Best to play Munthali & Stopilla. Kondwani & Sinkala.

Well done to FAZ for coming up with a good number of friendlies, lets hope the trend continues well into the qualifiers.
This is the only way to build a good pool of players. We should also reintroduce the all stars Vs the rest friendlies for the sole purpose of introducing the coach to new players and exposing more fringe players to the coach.
It will be miracle to qualify from this group more especially with a local coach but miracles do happen.

FAZ Match Ticket Scandal – Kazala, Siwale Allegedly Squander K150, 000 – State House Sources

FAZ vice-president Richard Kazala and committee member Blackwell Siwale have allegedly squandered K150, 000 (K150 million old currency) which was part payment for ticket sales for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier involving Chipolopolo and Nigeria played at Ndola Stadium.
According to State House sources, Kazala and Siwale collected K1, 650, 000 million (K1,650 billion old currency) but information that reached the source of the funds was that the duo remitted K1, 500, 000 (K1.5 billion old currency) for the tickets that enabled some fans access the match without paying.
President Edgar Lungu gave free entry to soccer fans to watch the match by purchasing nearly half of the tickets that were available on the market.
“You will recall that the tickets were being sold through the new system FAZ is try to implement, so when HE [His Excellency] offered free entry to soccer fans, he had to buy a huge chunk of tickets from FAZ outside the new system because it would not allow you bulk purchase. And FAZ also wanted to try out the Computicket System that’s how we had two options.
“FAZ officials were told to collect a payment from government, so when their agents arrived, it was the vice-president Mr Kazala and one committee member who collected the payment. In fact, they insisted on being paid cash because they said the association needed to attend to some logistical issues that weekend,” a highly placed source said.
The senior government official says Kazala and Siwale were queried as why they didn’t go to collect the payment with the FAZ accountant, but the duo claimed everyone at the secretariat was busy with the match and were already in Ndola.
“What shocked the boss is that after the payment was made, there was a query from FAZ about when the balance will be paid. So when we inquired what balance FAZ was asking for, we realised that the two guys that collected the money did not remit what they were given. That’s how come we have two different figures reflecting at the point of payment and FAZ accounts.
“The boss is very disappointed with the situation because his intention was in good faith but these guys are taking advantage it seems,” the source added.
ambia Reports reached out to Kazala and Siwale but both are yet to respond to a query. FAZ general secretary Ponga Liwewe was also contacted regarding the irregularity but is yet to respond to a separate query.
When contacted, FAZ treasurer Rix Mweemba did not deny or confirm the discrepancy but requested clearance from FAZ president Andrew Kamanga to release details of the ticket sales for the Nigeria match including the alleged shortfall with regards to the money paid by State House.
“Thank you for your query. However I request your query to go through the FAZ President so that he can allow me to give details,” Mweemba wrote.
Zambia Reports has reached out to Kamanga on Mweemba’s authorization to comment and release the details of the ticket sales for the match against Nigeria.

Walter bwalya has said he is ready to play for the zambian national team so ba faz why not call him?walter is better than sate sate simple example chally musonda parents are zambian but he has chosen belgian over zambia same applies to walter bwalya infact one of his parents is a zambian so I don’t see any reason why you are refusing to call him to the national team
Prince Boteng,the mother is Germany and the Father the is Ghanaian but he plays for Ghana why can’t Walter Bwalya qualify to play for Zambia and be cerebrated if need be.
