The Chipolopolo Boys have arrived in the Congolese capital city Brazaville ahead of Sunday’s AFCON 2017 qualifier against the Red Devils.
The team has set base at Ramada Hotel and will have one training session today.
On Saturday they will have a feel of the turf at the match venue.
Chipolopolo Boys coach George Lwandamina will be going for an outright victory on Sunday though a draw won’t be a bad result going by group standings.
Sports Minister Vincent Mwale and FAZ Licensing Officer Erick Mwanza have also traveled with the team.
There are also 60 Chipolopolo fans who travelled with team aboard Rwanda air.
Both Congo and Zambia are on 5 points while Guinea Bissau have 4 points with Kenya at the bottom of the group with a point.

How safe is safe is Kalengoal’s family in Congo, because he will again score and we will definitely win?
Congo love Kalengo, they are looking forward to watching him score 2.
That is why kalu lost election because of poor organization. Here we are, the team is already in battlefield – Kamanga is the man.
Logistically , this is good . They could train on the pitch to avoid what happened to us in Ghana & elsewhere when we were rightly denied the use of the field because we were late. Now this is good planning . One step forward . This is a good beginning. Go for it boys.
Zambia plays well under presure but that team is too fast muntali or katebe can partner sunzu in defence but with that defence awe tusaka
We nEed to bench Lwandamina he’s subjecting us to a lot of disgrace. Nothing to look forward to. Him and Janza are the same..
nigeria vs Egypt start soon. I will post the match update here.
I would prefer Kabaso Chongo at right back. Nkausu under pressure commits unnecessary fouls and can easily cause a penalty. Those guys will surely come at us!
Great to hear the boys arrived safely. @Nazo these travel arrangements were done way before Kamanga came in. It had nothing to do with the man who won elections less than a week ago.
nigeria Under 23 B-team defeated Brazil olympic team yesterday in faraway brazil. Brazil actually lost at home naija 0-1. Brazil fielded foreign pros like fabinho of monaco. Felipe anderson of lazio perreira of man u wallace and others.
naija played with u23 team B.
iwe that was not U23 from Nigeria.. they are a bunch of age cheats!
HEAD-TO-HEAD
naija vs egypt 15 games played
nigeria 7 W
Egypt 4 W
And 4 DRAWS
10mins still 0-0. Egypt defending well.
Egypt with the best chance so far. Still 0-0.
Both Congo and Rwanda are on 5 points, Guine Bissau 4 while bottom placed Kenya have 1 point. Rwanda may win in Congo and top the group.
@ Mumbi…Rwanda is not in our group.
Don, read the whole artical. Rwanda is there on 5 points with Congo. Rwanda and Congo drew 1-1 at Levy Mwanawasa on Wednesday. Winston Kalengo scored for Rwanda on 59th minutes but Congo equalised on 75′.
They ( Ba Zamfoot) made a mistake.
HALFTIME
nigeria 0-0 egypt
@Jonstin Balanced game Nigeria vs Egypt. The pyramid wall by the Pharaohs is standing tall and still at the back.
It’s still anyone’s game.
Go congo, go!!!
Lets remember that there are 2 Congos…This Congo in our group is the better behaved of the 2. I’m not worried for Kalengo or his family.
Kalengo will strike again in Congo, watch this space.
Gooooaaaaallllllll naija with the first goal.
63
nigeria 1-0 Egypt
nigeria 7pts
Egypt 6pts
Tanzania 4pts
Congo Brazaville, Zambia, Guine Bissau and Kenya are in same group. What is Rwanda doing in your article Ba Zamfoot? Am I missing something here? please correct me if am wrong.
Otherwise an early arrival is good news, thanks ba FAZ for this kind of travel arrangement.
Gooooaaaallll Egypt
90mins
nigeria 1-1 Egypt
What a heartbreak in kaduna.worse than the Ndola one I think
Things not looking good for Nigeria after the draw unless the go and win in Egypt on Tueday.
Egypt on 7 Points
Nigeria 5 Points
Tanzania 4 Points
Nigeria can’t win in Egypt. The Eagles will be slaughtered in Cairo.
Return match is scheduled for Alexandria…so naija might pull it off.
Heartbreak indeed. What a painful way to throw away good 3pts.
Can team nigeria egypt at home? I doubt it.
Aaaagh man. Cairo is a lions den. The Eagles will be slaughtered there. Nigeria missed an opportunity to go top in today’s game. This is the same situation we as Zambia find ourselves in. It’s painful not to win at home. But all the best for Nigeria in the return leg.
Those Egyptian players are evil men. The way they surrounded the referee, our very own Jan Sikazwe at the end of the match. That was unsportsmanship behaviour. Especially that Elneny guy from Arsenal. I am sure the referees will lodge a report to CAF.
Sikazwe alalisha bwino but in this match , I pull out a yellow card on him in the 93 minutes. It looked like it was wakO ni wakO effect. One on one, then pyeeee, hope they won’t label him Diramba ku Egypt.
Rumor going on that some disgruntled losing candidates are planning to form their own association, and some Kalu c’members want the SG to be one of Kalu simperthiser or else…So how true is it?
If that rumour is true, FIFA will NOT recognise them. Kalusha knows very well the implications of that.
I’m worried about our defence in Congo, who ‘ll replace sunzu?
Is Sunzu injured for him to replaced in Congo?
Sunzu accumulated two yellow cards so he won’t be eligible for the Congo game
Thats bad.
Tate taiwo’s twin brother turns 32 in Nigeria and in England Tate taiwo turns 23.. After kanu had a successful heart operation tha doctor said he is 27 plus so he needs time to heal .. What happened in Brazil doesn’t shock us.. Nigeria Under 23 b team beat Brazil ..
I agree Zim bullet, they are a bunch of age cheats!
Home ground advantage in this era does not carry a lot of weight. I watched the congo vs kenya game in congo.kenya was average and not even good and played worse compared to their game in guinea bissau yet they scored first and congo had to equalise.in my case it is the mentality that would help us win in congo. Congo is very much beatable at their backyard and like most teams i have watched play slightly under plessure unless by poor officiating which to me is not anew phenomena in west africa.
We as real Chipolopolo supporters have got respect for the Green Eagles because they are above us when it comes to head to head competitions and even their technical bench and players also has due respect for small and stubborn footballing nation .But to my surprise one blogger came in the name of Naija to tease us about our draw at home. May be he is from that country which is between Nigeria and that country where they are talented but pompous, always brags .Iam sorry no one is happy to draw at home. Have a good night all.
Go and read your geography again cuz ghana is in between nigeria! Lol
Are u talking about Benin?
Stop casting insinuations & be bold to make your point on good English
Sunzu is not in his best form as we know him, he needs Aeron KATETE, Salulani PHIRI and Chris Munthali to partner him. Mid-field needs the goods tactics of Isaac CHANSA in absence of C. LUNGU and Fwayo Tembo. WHY writing off an Excellent Isaac CHANSA, please Coach. Remember last time you listened to my suggestions and Zambia win away in Kenya!!!!!!!!! Please do the needful as I asked above. When you win call me Iwe Coach. This is serious.
You’re right. Munthali is the right player to partner Sunzu. The rest have been fluffing.
@Billy. Naija vs Egypt to be played in Alexandria. Naija can win in Egypt and so can Zambia in Congo Brazaville. But the home team go in with the advantage.
Thanks well said. Cheers.
Bwana Mumbai I like your sense of humor. Got me lol! Indeed going by the Zamfoot report ‘It is seems Rwanda played Congo on Wednesday’. Zamfoot we understand the serious mistake. Wishing our team well. Ovwr the elections of the FAZ leadership, let’s move on with respect for the new FAZ Chief and indeed the Icon Great Kalu who our soccer still needs dearly. He has the football in him besides the administration touch. As for the new FAZ Chief Sir Andrew Kamanga, he is an as astute business man and we pray that he succeed. Viva to our great Chipolopolo! Being long since Mbesuma scored a hat trick! Wishing him one against Congo and more at his Club MBAFC. It is weland Shaloml
Meant ‘It seems!’
Is Isaac Chansa part of the team travelled to Congo Brazzaville? He deserves to be in the starting xi. He is in an excellent form, for those who watched the CHAN Tonourment can bear me witness. He has expensive passes and he made an assist to the goal Mayuka scored against Ghana.
The problem is Lwandamina. Isaac Chansa should have started the game ahead of Chris Katongo as he is a natural midfielder.
Sunzu is not in his best form as we know him, he needs Aeron KATETE, Salulani PHIRI and Chris Munthali to partner him. Mid-field needs the good tactics of Isaac CHANSA in absence of C. Another issue ,I feel as Zambians we should start preparing a young team called Zambia b and let those selected youngsters play together for ayear to creat flow in play and coordination.then let it 2 years from now take over as the senior team as one whole. I have in mind.sate sate, conlyde, situmbeko, mukabdawire boyde, saith sakala, larry bwalya, mangani banda, evans kangwa, spencer sautu, dave daka, patson daka, kayawe kapot, chepeshi, and some of the boys who played at the zone 6 2012 games.Ghana was successful and Nigeria is almost doing the same.
All these boys are short and small in stature with the exception of the few, like Daka.
Sunzu is not in his best form as we know him, he needs Aeron KATETE, Salulani PHIRI and Chris Munthali to partner him. Mid-field needs the good tactics of Isaac CHANSA in absence of C. Ba Mr. Katongo naiwe mdala poseniko amano, COME to the part as know YOU.
Sunzu accumulated two yellow cards so he won’t be eligible for the Congo game
Swaziland coach has transformed that ordinary team into a force to reckon with .. They beat guinea conakary and hold Zimbabwe and Malawi .. They only have one foreign based player the rest are home grown players.. If they keep their momentum alive i foresee them qualifying .. Currently they are sitting at the top of the group with five points..
A team to emulate . Our local boys can do likewise with the proper management & coaching
who will partner kalengo in Congo! MBESUMA too slow?
Is Isaac Chansa part of the team travelled to Congo Brazzaville? He deserves to be in the starting xi. He is in an excellent form, for those who watched the CHAN Tonourment can bear me witness. He has expensive passes and he made an assist to the goal Mayuka scored against Ghana. Who are the dependable defenders
Think I saw chansa sitted with mbesuma and nathan in the plane leaving for congo brazaville. @lameck
He is part of the team.
is muntali eligeble to play after burned with his transfer issues.does he trialled with the rest of the team
Ooohhhh here we go again. nigeria won the caf u23 title here in Africa we didn’t here the age cheat rant. Lost to the same brazil last year at the fifa U20 championship we didn’t here this age cheat rant.
now we defeated brazil at home and we are now age cheats…hahahahahahaha lolz. Some guys here are obviously crazy. So u guys really brazil can’t be defeated by an African team. Inferiority complex is bad. Guess what these age cheats will represent ur continent at the Rio 2016 olympics.
Ghana defeated brazil to win the under 20 world cup, they shouted their age cheat rants.
South africa defeated Nigeria at the caf u-17 championship, we didn’t hear the regular age cheat rant. Nigeria went on to defend their U-17 world title they ranted again as usual.
Nigeria U23 defeated Brazil U23 at home….. AGE CHEATSsssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Badosqi , let the be, Zambians are blinded by jealousy , look at their neighbours S.A qualified for Olympics, Swaziland are a growing force, Botswana can beat anybody on their day, Zambia is a minnow in their own region , just Google or phone Namibian coach he will tell you.
@Alex zz,am new on this site i love zambia as much as you love Ghana.i do love Ghana and this new look nigeria.the point is lets help to build each and not demean each other .you may have brains but remember that if amad man finds you swimming and runs awau with your clothes and you start chasing him naked to get back your clothes who do you think will be considered mad?. I have followed your blogs and some of my fellow zambians, justice be told we act as illiterates and savages.I thought both Zambia and Ghana africans and from history khwameh nkhrumah amd kenneth kaunda did alot towards liberation of west africa and southern africa respectively .so why the hate.lets us compete favourably, win or loose favourably and challenge the nee fifa boss to increase africa places to 7 at the world cup and try hard for an frican team to atleas play in the top 4 in 2018 russia or 2022.my humble advice my fellow african whether west ,East, south or north we are all africans.lets appreciate each other if one african team does well at atournament than comparing successes, failures and insulting each other.i believe one day africans will be sensible enough like our founding fathers and embrace uhuru, humanism and pan africanism otherwise we will always remain stepping stone for all these hypocrites coming frpm developed world in sheep skins but there are lions. Hope you get sense my brother.lets discuss real football and develop africa’s game.JABBRIMS 10. Zambian and african
Hehehehe Alex zz
Jealousy is the right word.
guys worry about the Congo game. who can partner kalengo u?pfront
#Fazfootball CHANGE OF VENUE FOR CONGO VS ZAMBIA #Afcon2017
The venue for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match between Congo and Zambia has been changed from Alphonse Massemba-Débat Stadium to Kintele Stadium, the Federation Congolaise de Football (Fecofoot) announced on Saturday.
Fecofoot Secretary General Badji Mombo told Lee Kawanu, the Faz Leader of Delegation, that the change of venue had taken place due to security concerns at the Alphonse Massamba-Débat Stadium.
“We have informed the Match Commissioner that the game cannot be played at the Alphonse Massamba-Débat Stadium for security reasons. That is the only reason we have moved the match to the Kintele Stadium in the north of Brazzaville,” said Mombo.
The 80,000 capacity Kintele Stadium, located in the northern part of Brazzaville, is bigger than the Alphonse Massamba-Débat which has a capacity of about 20,000.
mind boggling games
When was the last time the great Ghana won afcon??Even Jordan Ayew was not yet born fact.somehow they have remained giants
It doesn’t matter,Sudan did the same but they were beaten at their own backyard.Go Zambia!!!!!!!!!!! go.
The Kintele stadium is a beautiful new stadium which was built for the 2015 All-Africa games. It’s a state of the art new stadium. It can actually hold about 60,000 people.
I am sure they are expecting a lot of people and that why they have moved the match to a bigger venue. The stadium where the match was initially supposed to be played, he Alphonse Massamba-Débat Stadium, can only accommodate about 20,000 people.
Change of venue @ the last minute signals fear on their part. I hope we going to have a feel of the changed venue.
Meanwhile SA are on top of things in Cameroun leading by2-1,.
Cameroun equalizeds…2-2.
Cameroon were lucky , that looked a penalty to me.
South Africa are technically out of the race. 2-2 draw at FT.
Too bad, SADC region facing the prospects of being represented by Swaziland n Angola.
South Africa are a good side but won’t qualify . The ref bottled a penalty against Cameroon towards the end of the match.
Zambia will find it difficult to win the game if they play with the same attitude they displayed in the last game in Ndola. The coach should move away from this system of scoring one goal and you wanting to defend with your lives for the rest of the game. Having one striker upfront is never going to get you a galore of goals.
Lets employ a 3-5-2 0r 4-4-2 formation depending on the circumstances. These are attacking options available to us and the Congolese will not be expecting that kind of formation early on and that’s the time to strike them hard.
Mauritius 1 – 0 Rwanda(0 – 0)
Seychelles 2 – 0 Lesotho (1 – 0)
Burundi 1 – 3 Namibia (0 – 0)
Cameroon 2 – 2 South Africa (1 – 1)
D.R. Congo 2 – 1 Angola (1 – 0)
