The Chilean Football Federation(FFch) has confirmed that Chile Women’s National Team will face Zambia on Saturday, November 28, and Tuesday, December 1 for a super clash International friendly match to be played in Chile.
According to a report monitored by the ZamFoot Crew on the federation’s official website, La Roja Feminina will square off with the Copper Queens in a friendly match that will be played on November 28 and December 1 at a venue and time yet to be announced.
The FFch President Mr. Pablo Milad said facing Zambia is the best preparation for Chile who has a Tokyo 2021 play-off date against Cameroon over a two-legged affair in February to determine who makes it to the Olympics in July next year.
“As you might expect, organizing a Class A FIFA match in times of a pandemic is complicated, but we succeeded. Zambia is a team that has already qualified for the Olympic games and is ideal for our coach to conclude a rival similar to Cameroon, a team that we will face next February for the Olympic play-off,” Milad said.
Mr. Milad further said everything has been done to obtain all the immigration permits and comply with the requirements of the authorities.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Chile and Zambia at any level in Women’s Football circles.
The Copper Queens who already booked a ticket to the Olympics are currently in South Africa competing at the 2020 COSAFA Women’s Championship and will travel to Chile after the tournament which will run from 3-14 ahead of the November 28 and December 1 friendly match against La Roja Feminina to have a feel of what they might expect at the Olympics which will have the likes of hosts Japan, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Great Britain, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, and USA.
