FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya has urged Chipolopolo to pay attention to the finer details of the match, tactics and encouraged every player to “bring their ‘A’ game in tomorrow evening’s quarter final fixture against Guinea Conakry in Rubavu.
In addressing the players at the end of training at the Umuganda Stadium, Kalusha said all focus and concentration should be on executing a good game in the quarter final match which kicks off at 18:00.
Kalusha has encouraged the players to apply themselves to “hard work, dedication and sacrifice” and taken time to share valuable experiences of the significance of wonderful team spirit, discipline and hard work and how these values have paid dividend for Zambia and other successful sides in the past.
“We are looking very good, very fresh and full of running. Tomorrow is the most important game for us and we must go in with the same determination, hard work and zeal to deliver for ourselves and ultimately the people of Zambia.
We should focus our minds and energy on nothing but Guinea. We have every attribute to succeed. We’ve talked about this in the past weeks and tomorrow we will find something to encourage us and share it at lunch,” Kalusha said to a jovial squad.
He had earlier joined in the final training session.
The 1988 African footballer of the year and CAF Executive Committee member pulled back the years as he engaged in ball juggling and partook in the final session of training which included taking kicks from the penalty spot. He expertly chipped one past goalkeepers trainer Mike Poto.
He commended the boys for the hard work of the group stages where Zambia shone with an impressive 7 points and a clean sheet in all three group matches.
All members of the 23 man squad are available for selection.

That is why some of see you as a very valuable person to Zambian and African football and world football.
Some those younger players fit to be Kalu’s sons must have been so humbled when they saw the master perform tricks with the ball. Kalu’s left foot is magic….

There is no serious and mature striker in this team
Are you telling me kalengo is the only one who knows where the net is. Patson daka is a real let down. The boy can’t even shoot at goal

Adamson Mulao showed that he is able to take the target man role. Short time on the field but to a keen football eye he is the man for job. He has height too.

This Cup is going to west africa
Don’t rule out DRC. They have depth and have scored 10 goals so far from 5 different players. The team that lost to Cameroun had 8 reserve players; beating host Rwanda yesterday confirmed their status as serious contenders to the title they took against Ghana in Ivory Coast in 2009.
