COSAFA champions, Green Buffaloes Women Football Club have been drawn in Group A alongside AS FAR of Morocco, Simba Queens of Tanzania and Determine Girls of Liberia in the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Buffaloes qualified to the tournament after winning the COSAFA Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifier last month.
Coach Charles Haalubono is expected to bank on the likes of Ireen Lungu, the female Computer who was the top goalscorer of the COSAFA Women’s Champions League, Natasha Nanyangwe, Lushomo Mweemba, Martha Tembo, Agness Musesa and the captain Joana Benaya.
Meanwhile Group B has defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, Bayelsa Queens of Nigeria, Egyptian side Wadi Degla FC and a UNIFFAC representative who will be revealed after the conclusion of the zonal tournament set to take place from 10-16 September 2022 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
The eight teams will participate in the tournament scheduled from 31 October 2022 to 13 November 2022 in Morocco.
