Bruce Mwape declares Copper Queens ready for Angola return legĀ

Zambia Women’s National Team head coach Bruce Mwape has declared his team ready for this evening’s game against Angola.

The Copper Queens thrashed Angola 6-0 in the first leg and will be looking to finish off the job this evening at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Mwape says he will start with a strong team and maybe make changes in the second half to give new players a chance.

“All I can say is that the team is ready for tomorrow’s game (today) against Angola. Although we won 6-0 away in Angola, we know they are serious and when they come here they will want to win the second leg. The team is ready and we have no injuries in the team,” he said.

“Yes we will try by all means to give other players a chance to play as part of preparations for the game against Ghana. We will however start with a strong team and make changes later on.”

“We have been building a team for the last five years and the average age is just five years . We can’t give everyone a chance at once but as far as I am concerned we have given a chance to every player people talk about,” he added.

Mwape says they have worked on the lapses noticed in the first leg.

The Copper Queens gaffer went on to call on Copperbelt fans to turn up in numbers and support the team.

“In any game you play no matter the result, there are always areas where you make mistakes and we have identified that and have been working on those in training,” he said.

“To the fans they should come in numbers to watch the Copper Queens live, this is their chance. It’s the right time to come and support them as they play at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.”

The Copper Queens host Angola this evening at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium with kick off set at 18h00.

Tickets for the match are available at ShopRite Stores Country wide via Computicketing from as low as K30.
