Zambian international striker Obrey Chirwa has joined Danish top-flight side Hobro IK from FC Platinum of Zimbabwe, the Zvishavane-based has confirmed.
FC Platinum media liaison officer Chido Chizondo also confirmed the development stating that the player has signed a three year deal.
“Obrey has officially left us for a Danish club. We have finalised his transfer and he is no longer our player,” she said.
FC Platinum also have Aaron Katebe on their books who is currently in Morocco and is expected to sign at Wydad Athletic Club.
22 year old Chirwa will link with Zimbabwean footballers Quincy Antipas and defender Ronald Pfumbidzai at the same club.
Hobro are currently ninth with three games played in the 12 team Danish Superliga.

Andrew Tembo played for this club when they were in the first division. They are in the second season of the Danish super league since winning promotion in the season 2014 – 2015 where they finished in 7th place. Their first victory this season was a 2-0 away win to Brøndby IF, last Sunday. The club has never lost a game vs Brøndby IF ( 4-games 4 victories). The club recently sold their best striker who was topscorer in the Danish league, to a Germany club. A very good club for any serious Zambian player wishing to move to get to bigger clubs
Good for him there is a ZIM players at the club. Antipas is actually a former Brøndby player
Welcome Chirwa, just work hard

And the Senior Team must give him a call up for assessment purposes
Congratulations mwana wakwithu, now make a difference there and not just add up numbers .
Good luck Lad
Ati he will be with his ex Zimbabwean team mates, come on these guys are using the players to make money by signing them to stupid clubs in Europe clubs which Europe itself does not even it exits there!! European people don’t even know that club exist in Denmark! Ati nice move!!!
How did the club sell their top Danish super League topscorer to Germany. Scouts from England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France are always closely monitoring the Danish super league
Better to start in Denmark than go to some big club and fail
I look forward to watching the boy especially when his team comes to Esbjerg FC, in Esbjerg the town where I am living now

Thanks for that update justice lukanga kafusha. I hope the update shuts Privateoxoxox up a little bit with his retarded comment.
@Justice just give the boy your home address in Esbjerg (pronounced Espia). Invite also his Zim friends for nshima weekend, and DON’T report to us, sometimes you are too detailed.
Am not here to exchange words am here to say my thoughts! Zambians will never learn if they will keep selling young players to stupids an branded clubs just because it is in Europe!! Shame it’s like marrying a prositute just becoz she is a white person
Lol!
Justice stop lying, you dnt live in Denmark….you were spotted in the copperbelt a couple of days ago.even ur facebook is full of downloaded pics
That is your problem
For those interested I have translated the below info. that was posted on Hobro IF,s club website from Danish to English
Hobro IK (Hobro Sports Club) has signed a contract with three African talents to develop their football skills in Hobro and become a complementary supply chain to the club’s Superliga team. Hobro IK During the summer approached three young African talents who all hope for an international breakthrough in Europe.
Initially, they selected Hobro IK as a starting point for the next stage of their career through a new project, led by assistant coach Michael Kryger in cooperation with the clubs Zimbabwean profile, Quincy Antipas. The three players, two of them from Zimbabwe and one from Zambia, have been carefully selected through several visits to Africa by assistant coach Michael Kryger. “We have scouted the players very well and have not only focused on their footballing qualities, but also their personalities. We have found three players who clearly will do what is necessary to build a career, “says Michael Kryger. The three players respectively Ronald Pfumbidzai (20), who plays left back and joined Hobro IK from CAPS United in Harare. Moreover, he is captain of the Zimbabwe U23 national team. Country man Tanaka Chinyahara (19), who played central midfield at Bidvest West FC in South Africa has also followed while Aubrey Chirwa (22) is a player from FC Platinum in Zimbabwe. It is intended three African developing players to complement Talent Plus work in Hobro IK, so that it is possible to create “own” first team players to the club and possibly resell opportunities.
“It is a continuous and long-term project in which players have a common residence near the DS Arena. We intend to establish a language training and will launch a number of initiatives to help the players get well integrated socially during their stay in Hobro. It is a kind of mini-academy for adult African players who have already played at a certain level in their home country, “adds Michael Kryger. The three young Africans will work together with the Superliga squad supplemented by individual training at other times
@Kafusha, thanks for translating from Danish to that language. But was “..See Zamfoot picture) also in Danish news?
I wish Zambian players were dedicated like you.
One of our brightest footballing stars Chris Katongo also kicked off his European professional career in this league before he moved on to Germany then Greece and the rest is history which includes winning BBC African footballer of the year…… I mean just that one example shows that any one with enough sense to put logic behind their comment will know that it is far better and is a huge step in career growth for a footballer to go and ply his trade in the Danish league than in the Zimbabwean league.
Well said, I have and will always respect your way of blogging. Cheers my man
Lol people wish to live in Europe!!! This is the reason why we are busy sighing up our boys to high school or college clubs in Europe and we expect our players to be national team materials
By the way it is not a question of where I live fact remains the same I am and will always remain a Zambian. Whether in Peru, Mansa, Kashikishi, Mununga, Senanga, on Mars, Iran or where ever I will always remain a Zambian and am very proud to be a Zambian
And what’s the performance of Zimbabwe national team? Shame after spoting it’s nine players to Europe lol hehehehe…
Mayuka is going to readings FC

@Justice, please don’t respond to some of these comments. Lest you lose blog direction. How can somebody in a modern world say you don’t live in XX because last week you were spotted in ZZ location.
Are we still using ships, which used to take months to round the Cape of Good Hope? A plane takes about 12 hours to fly from Denmark to South Africa, and 17 hours non stop from the USA to SA. This simply means that somebody can be anywhere any time.
Lets Blog on.
Sense!
