Chipolopolo Boys coach Aljosa Asanovic has settled for Red Arrows’ highly rated head coach Chisi Mbewe as his assistant, the ZamFoot Crew understands
Asanovic has been impressive with the brand of football the airmen play and wants to nurture Chisi as a possible future Chipolopolo coach.
During his interview on ZNBC, Asanovic had indicated that he was looking for a ‘young guy.’
“I want to involve some local coaches. I tried to find a young guy. I wanted to find a young guy who knows everything about the Zambian culture, football and I hope I find this guy very soon,” Asanovic said.
The affection for Chisi can also be seen by the number of times the Croatian has watched Red Arrows since his appointment.
It is not just Asanovic who has identified Chisi as one of the country’s best upcoming coaches.
Two former Chipolopolo coaches Honour Janza and Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic also hold him in high esteem.

Red Arrows are currently top of the Zambian Super League and arguably play the best football in the country.
The airmen have been known for their fast transitions from defence into attack.
Chisi likes to push his full backs high up the pitch and encourages his players to recycle
Under the tutelage eye of the energetic Chisi, Arrows have evolved into a title contenders for the first time since the Danny Hangunyu led 2004 league title.
Chisi also guided the Airmen into a top four finish last season as where eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup by Simba.
Chisi, an ex-Mungwi Technical Secondary school pupil featured for Power Dynamos and Red Arrows as player.
He was given his first break into management by veteran coach George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina.
