Striker Christopher Phiri came off the bench to score a brace to salvage a point for the impressive Kafue Celtic in a 2-2 draw against Red Arrows
Red Arrows started on a good note as Ricky Banda registered his first goal of the season in the third minute of the match.
Banda, formerly of Indeni completed his brace in the 43rd minute.
Heading into the break 2-0 down, Celtic scored at the stroke of half time thanks to Phiri’s well taken goal.
Phiri, who started the match on the bench came on for Mwiza Siwale who had sustained a laceration on his forehead after head on collision with his former teammate Tresor Tshibwabwa.
Nicknamed ‘Dunga’ after the famous Brazilian midfielder, Phiri made sure the Crocs went home with a point after with an injury time equaliser.
Celtic are now 8th on the log while Arrows are out of the drop zone on 14th.
On Wednesday, Kafue Celtic will host Green Buffaloes at Edwin Imboela Stadium in a lunchtime kickoff while Arrows will be away from home at Nkoloma Stadium against Lusaka Dynamos in the mini capital derbies.
