Zambian striker Andrew Phiri is currently at Orlando Pirates for a two week assessment according to reports in South Africa.
Phiri has scored 33 league goals since the start of the 2022/2023 MTN Super League season hence attracting interest from the South African PSL side.
Zambian outlet Bola News earlier reported that Phiri had travelled to South Africa with the clubās permission to attend an assessment, for the next 10-14 days.
South African media outlet iDiski Times has now confirmed that Phiri started training with the Buccaneers this week, during the FIFA International break and heās impressed so far, but no decision has been made on the player as of yet.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that the forward has a K2 Million release clause in his contract at the Mazabuka based outfit.
At the start of the current season, Phiri reported late for pre-season as he tried to force a move away from the club. Phiri was linked with a move to Zesco United and Power Dynamos.
The 23 year old was named the Fans Player of the season during the 2023/2024 Super League season.
He has represented the Chipolopolo at U23, Men’s senior COSAFA Championship among others tournaments.
Since 2012 any player who goes to SA becomes a permanent bench warmer
Thatās so true. SA has turned into a burial site for many careers, especially Pirates or Chiefs. Only person who had success or longevity at Pirates was Isaac Chansa. Either way, the pay must be good and hopefully the young man can prove all of us doubters wrong.
Dennis Lota also succeeded at Pirates
D Lota at Pirates was a regular
