English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth have entered the race for Zambia National Team striker Patson Daka.
According to a report on Leicester Mercury, AFC Bournemouth are interested in signing the former Power Dynamos forward.
Journalist Alan Nixon claims Bournemouth “are set to win” the race for the Zambian’s signature with the striker “available” before the transfer deadline next week.
Everton are said to have “tried to sign” Daka this summer, but were unable to agree a deal with City.
Everton have since reignited their interest in Udinese target man Beto after also failing to entice Southampton into the sale of Che Adams.
Although a deal for the 27-year-old Scotland international is still very much alive, the Saints are yet to accept Everton’s improved £15 million offer and negotiations have stalled.
Bournemouth are reportedly willing to meet the terms, however. It is unclear what sort of fee is involved, but Leicester will be hoping to recoup as much of the original fee they paid for him as possible.
Daka joined City from RB Salzburg in June 2021, signing a five-year deal after the clubs agreed a fee £23 million. He has since played 74 times for City, scoring 15 goals. Nine of those came in the Premier League.
The Cherries boss Andoni Iraola, When quizzed if he was ruling out any future business, He responded: “No, probably it can happen.”
“Probably there will be some signing because there is always movement in the last days of the market in every club.
“So probably some players leaving, some new ones arriving, I don’t know, can happen.
“But it’s also possible that there are no signings the same way,” he added.
Last week French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco joined the race to sign the Zambian international.
The striker scored 68 times in 125 appearances for RB Salzburg in all competitions.
Daka on the other hand has been amazing for Chipolopolo scoring 9 goals in his last 9 AFCON qualifying games.
