Libamba Moyela talks playing alongside Patson Daka, motivation and goal scoring targetĀ

Forest Rangers striker Wisdom Libamba Moyela has expressed excitement with his National Team call up for the September 9 Group H Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Comoros.

Libamba was named in Avram Grant’s 27 member squad for the last round of the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Libamba is named among strikers alongside Leicester City forward Patson Daka and China based Evans Kangwa who is making a return to the squad for the first time since the September 2022 FIFA window friendly against Mali in Bamako.

Moyela told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview that he is looking forward to playing alongside the likes of Daka, Tandi Mwape and Frankie Musonda.

“I Am very excited because this is my first time going to the main National Team,” he said.

“I am looking to play alongside the likes of Patson Daka, Tandi Mwape, Frankie Chisenga Musonda among others because those are senior players and I think the football I play suits their style of play.”

The Forest Rangers hitman has set a target of scoring if given a chance by the Israeli gaffer.

He revealed that this call up is a big motivation for him and it will help him work hard.

“At the National Team as for it’s to just go and score goals if they give me an opportunity,” he said.

“This is a big motivation for me. It will encourage me to keep working hard so that I am always on the national team.”

“Me, I just have to go to Europe, that’s my target in two years,” he added.

Libamba impressed at the COSAFA Cup scoring the only goal in the final and was named player of the match.

The team will enter camp on September 4 in Lusaka before flying out to Comoros.

Zambia tops Group H with 12 points, two better than Ivory Coast who will be hosting Lesotho and have already qualified as hosts.

Comoros lies third with six points and will be playing for pride having already fallen out of the race for the AFCON.
