Forest Myooye, Play It Forward, Nampundwe, Zambezi Portland, and Solwezi Mushitala Stars are through to the 2026 ABSA Cup round of 16.
On Friday, Forest Myooye qualified to the round of 16 of the K7 million rich 2026 ABSA Cup following a huge win in their preliminary round encounter.
Central Province side Forest Myooye thumped Western Province side Barotse Crocs 5-0 to progress to the next round of the prestigious Cup competition.
On Saturday, North Western side Solwezi Mushitala FC edged Teta FC 1-0 in a contest that kept everyone on edge. A tight fiercely fought encounter with both sides showing real grit but Mushitala just found that decisive moment.
Bourgeois Baleke’s 28th minute strike was enough to seal the win for Mushitala FC.
In the second match of the day at Railway Stadium, Southern Province side Play It Forward FC thumped Luapula side Mathkat 3-0 in a commanding display.
Mathkat were reduced to ten men and fought bravely but could not keep up with the relentless pace.
Goals from Nathan Simabisi, Raphael Kachepa, and Martin Mwangala scored a goal each to seal the comfortable win for Play It Forward.
On Sunday; The action moved to Sunset Stadium. Lusaka Province side Nampundwe FC secured a hard-fought 2–0 victory over Mikalile FC from Eastern Province, booking their place in the Round of 16.
Goals from Jacob Banda and Emmanuel Sauganile sealed the win for Nampundwe.
In the second match of the day; Zambezi Portland secured a 2–0 victory over Real Nakonde, booking their place in the Round of 16 .
Richard Ngoma put Zambezi Portland in the lead in the 67th minute while Joshua Chabalaka added a second in the 73rd minute.
The round of 16 will take place on the weekend of April 4th and 5th.
The champions of the 2026 ABSA Cup will walk away with K1,100,000, while the runners-up will pocket K450,000.

Additionally, ABSA Bank has pledged logistical support to the eventual winners should they qualify to represent Zambia in the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2026/27 season.
