Absa Cup Semi Finals: Three former winners in the last four as Arrows, Eagles eye league & cup double

National First Division side Napsa Stars will face 2018 winners Nkana in the semi finals of the 2021/22 Absa Cup.

In the other semi final, Zambian Super League leaders Red Arrows and third placed Green Eagles will square it off as both sides seek a league and cup double.

Eagles are only club in the last four who are yet to win Zambia’s prestigious cup.

Napsa won it in 2012 after they beat Power Dynamos on post match penalties while Nkana beat Young Buffaloes in the 2018 edition.

In 2013, Red Arrows beat Nchanga Rangers 3-1 to win the 7th edition.

To reach finals, Nkana and Napsa Stars beat Lumwana Radiants and Green Buffaloes in the quarter finals respectively.

Green Eagles dispatched Zesco United in a four goal thriller while Red Arrows recorded a routine win over Nkwazi.

The semi finals will be played at Nkoloma Stadium while the final will be at National Heroes Stadium.

Nkana 1-1 Lumwana Radiants (Oliver Lumbiya 53′ l Joseph Chanda 7′)

Nkana won 5-4 on penalties

Zesco United 2-2 Green Eagles (Amity Shamende 40′, Linekar Mwiikisa 86′ l Enock Sakala 53′, Clement Mwape )

Eagles won 4-3 on penalties

Green Buffaloes 1-1 Napsa Stars (Martin Njobvu l Simon Nkhata 30′)

Napsa Stars on 7-6 on penalties

Red Arrows 3-0 Nkwazi (Alassane Diara 14′, George Simbayambaya 53’, George Mandu 70’)
