ABSA Bank Zambia has increased the sponsorship package for the 2023 ABSA Cup to from last year’s K4 Million which is a ten percent increment.
The Champions will walk away with K700,000 while the runners up will pocket K350,000. Coach of the tournament and player of the tournament accolades have been pegged at K25,000 with man of the match award being K15,000.
Two more awards have been introduced in top goalscorer and golden glove award which will see the winners walk away with K25,000 each.
Travel grant for teams playing locally is K20,000 while K30,000 is the grant that teams coming from out of town will get this year.
Meanwhile two time Champions, Power Dynamos will start their campaign Mufulira Wanderers against while 2022 runners up Red Arrows will face FC MUZA in the quarter finals.
Green Buffaloes and Green Eagles will face Forest Rangers and Trident respectively.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for the weekend of March 11 and 12 at Woodlands Stadium with the semi-finals a month later on April 8 and 9 at Arthur Davies Stadium.
The final will take place on Saturday May 13 at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
