Lumwana Radiants march to a historical Super Division promotion gathered momentum Wednesday afternoon after the Solwezi based side overcame Roan United 2-0.
Radiants have opened a four point lead over Kalulushi Modern Stars who were held 1-1 away at Real Nakonde.
Radiants could become the first ever club from the North Western Province of Zambia to ever grace the top flight if they gain promotion.
Mufulira Blackpool failed to capitalise on Stars slip as the third placed perennial promotional pushers eked out a barren draw at Zesco Luapula.
Radiants have 59, Kalulushi 55 and Blackpool 53 with four matches left to play in Division One North.
In Division One South, Mohammed Fathy’s already impressively promoted Kabwe Warriors drew 0-0 with Matero United.
Second placed Lusaka Tigers under the excellent former Zambia winger Dickson “Lusha” Chanda Mwape battled to a hard fought 2-3 win at Riflemen.
But Prison Leopards kept the pressure on Tigers with a 2-0 win over Kafue Celtic in the battle for the second promotion spot.

Godspeed! Hope they make and rewrite the history books on Zambian football!
At last Premier league football in North Western Province. Good for Zambian football.
Hopefully.
Lumwana we are behind u!!
The “Dont Kubeba” stadium project in Western Province should b shelved and moved to Solwezi just between Lumwana turnoff and Solwezi! They not only need it but deserve it going by the perfomance of the four rural teams in the province. The brilliant perfomance of the four reflect abundant talent in the area. Believe me this is a sleeping giant in terms of sports such football and boxing!
Lol! Ati ” Dont Kubeba” stadium.
Very true @ Slim. this is where Makinka, chilengi, among others came from. we need a stadium in this area, coz things can turn out to be 2 teams from solwezi into premier soon. the mines are expected to pump in a lot Ka.

North Western Province is one of the largest contributors to the Zambian economy, a stadium is needed here asap
I was there when the official started and the hardships we faced under kasengele’s player registration rules. Am so proufd of you north western coz faz though we were just resource providers to the association rather than real football talent. we said, if southern province can do it against all odds, then we can as well do it. Thanks to Mr. Sakapumba and others for their efforts. we shall definately be part of the super league next..
Well said.
