Prison Leopards have returned to the summit of the MTN/FAZ Super League table following a 2-0 win over Forest Rangers at President Stadium in Kabwe this afternoon while Napsa Stars and Red Arrows played out to a 2-2 draw as Brian Mwila struck again to guide Buildcon to a 1-0 win over Indeni.
The Zambia Super League entered week 13 this weekend with a barren draw between Nkwazi and Lusaka Dynamos on Friday. The action continued this afternoon with five matches taking center stage.
Today’s big match was in Kabwe where Prison Leopards welcomed Forest Rangers at President Stadium. A win for either side would take them above Sensational Zanaco at the summit and it was Prison Leopards who came out victorious with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Francis Zulu and Kobe Chipeta.
The win takes Prison Leopards to 23 points and they move to the summit while Forest Rangers remains in fourth place but they have played two games less.
In Ndola, A derby was on the horizon at the cage, Indeni Sports complex as Indeni football club welcomed Team Kopala, Buildcon. Brian Mwila scored the only goal of the game, his second in as many games to give Buildcon the bragging rights and sends them to third place.
In Lusaka, Green Buffaloes returned to winning ways after a five-game winless run as they beat Kabwe Warriors 2-0 thanks to a brace from Aubrey Chellah. The win moves Buffaloes out of the relegation zone up to 13th place. Kabwe Warriors suffer their second defeat in as many games.
At the same venue, Red Arrows and Napsa Stars played out to a 2-2 draw with Emmanuel Mayuka netting a brace for the Pensioners while James Chamanga and Joseph Phiri scored the goals for the Airmen with Alassane Diara setting up both goals.
