ZPL National League Matchweek 2: A Sizzling Weekend of Football Ahead!

An action-packed weekend awaits  as the ZPL National League kicks off its second matchweek! The excitement is building, and the stakes are high as teams clash in thrilling encounters that promise to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

The stage is set for a series of mouth-watering matches. Makeni All Stars, riding high after their 3-1 win over Atletico Lusaka last weekend, will host Kitwe United at the Reiz Arena in Lusaka. Michael Hachipuka’s hat-trick heroics will surely have the Makeni faithful buzzing with excitement as they look to make it two wins on the bounce.

Meanwhile, Chirundu United will welcome Trident at the Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka. Trident’s stalemate against Indeni last weekend will have them looking to get back to winning ways.

In Ndola, Indeni FC will welcome Forest Rangers to the Indeni Sports Complex. Forest Rangers will be looking to build on their 1-0 win over Lumwana Radiants last weekend, courtesy of Hope Katwishi’s 82nd-minute strike.

Kafue Celtic, who came from two goals down to beat Aguila Stars 3-2 last weekend, will be looking to make it two wins on the bounce against Lumwana Radiants away in Lumwana. 

Other exciting matches on Saturday include Locus FC vs River Plate at the Independence Stadium, Ndola United vs Chipata City Council at Musa Kasonka Stadium, and Roan United hosting Atletico Lusaka at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya. Atletico Lusaka will be looking to bounce back from their 3-1 loss to Makeni All Stars, and they have a tough task ahead against Roan United.

The action continues on Sunday, August 24th, with Aguila Stars taking on Mpulungu Harbour at the Reiz Arena, and Chambishi facing Jumulo FC at Chambishi Stadium. 

With so much at stake, this weekend’s fixtures are shaping up to be a thrilling ride. So, grab your jersey, gather your friends and family, and get ready to cheer on your favorite team! The ZPL National League is back, and it’s going to be a wild ride!
