ZPL confirm teams that have qualified for 2025 ABSA CupĀ 

The Zambian Premier League has confirmed the 21 teams that have qualified for the 2025 ABSA Cup. 

The seven teams from the MTN Super League are Zesco United (Ndola), Kabwe Warriors (Kabwe),  Nkana (Kitwe),  Power Dynamos (Kitwe), Red Arrows (Lusaka),  Green Eagles (Choma) and Green Buffaloes (Lusaka). 

Meanwhile National Division One will be represented by Chililabombwe based  Konkola Blades, Kansanshi Dynamos of Solwezi,  Prison Leopards from Kabwe and Mpulungu Harbour.

The draws for the prestigious Cup Competition will be conducted this week and further details on the fixtures, venues, and match dates will be announced in due course. 

Last year, Red Arrows edged Kabwe Warriors 2-1 to win the 2024 ABSA Cup at a near capacity Heroes Stadium crowd. 

The winners of the tournament, Red Arrows walked away with K800,000 with the runners up Kabwe Warriors getting K350,000. 

Top goalscorer – Ricky Banda  (4 Goals ) K25,000 

Player of the tournament- Alassane Diarra K25,000 

Goalkeeper of the tournament – Victor Chabu K25,000

The Zambian Premier League (ZPL) is pleased to announce the confirmed participants for the prestigious 2025 Absa Cup. 

The tournament will feature a total of 21 teams, comprising seven (7) MTN Super League teams, four (4) ZPL National League teams, and Ten (10) Provincial Division One teams.

The participating teams are as follows:

MTN Super League Representatives:

• Zesco United (Ndola)

• Kabwe Warriors (Kabwe)

• Nkana (Kitwe)

• Power Dynamos (Kitwe)

• Red Arrows (Lusaka)

• Green Eagles (Choma)

• Green Buffaloes (Lusaka)

• Muchinga – Muchinga Blue Eagles (Chinsali)

• Northern – Teta FC (Kasama)

• Northwestern – Solwezi Academy (Solwezi)

• Southern – Bart’s FC (Choma)

• Western – Nangweshi Pirates (Senanga) 

The Absa Cup draws will be conducted this week and further details on the fixtures, venues, and match dates will be announced in due course.
