Zimbabwe striker eyeing AFCON place

Forest Rangers striker Thomas Chideu is hoping his club form might earn him a place in Zimbabwe’s African Cup of Nations squad.

The 26 year old forward has hit three goals in his last three matches for the Ndola side.

Chideu earned Fole Malembe maximum points last week after he scored the only goal in the win over Kansanshi Dynamos.

He also scored in the 1-1 draw against Zesco United in the Ndola derby.

A fortnight ago he came off the bench to score a powerful header against Indeni to help the Tenant Chembo coached side to a 2-1 win.

This is his second season in Ndola after signing from Highlanders.

Chideu has also featured for Golden Arrows and Ajax Cape Town in South Africa.

He earned his only cap in 2015.

Compatriots Tafadzwa Rusike and Thabani Kamusoko who feature for Zesco United have been part of the Warriors squad.

On Saturday, he will hope his rich vein of form continues against Nkana.

Forest will go into the match on a 7 match winning streak against Kalampa.
