ZESCO United have stormed the group stage of the 2025/2026 CAF Confederation Cup following a 1-1 draw with Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy away in Francis Town.
Amine Hiver put Zega Mambo in the lead just before halftime to continue his hot goal scoring form.
Galaxy star Thabang Vincent Sesinyi leveled matters late in the second half to provide a nervy ending to the match.
ZESCO held on to win the tie 5-4 on aggregate and progressed to the group stage.
ZESCO United will now make around K9,000,000 approximately for qualifying to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The nine time MTN Super League Champions will be looking to emulate their 2017 campaign when they reached the quarter finals losing to South African side Supersport United on away goals .
The last time ZESCO United reached the groups stage was 2019 when they were grouped together with Nkana, Al Hilal and Asante Kotoko, they finished bottom of that group.
