Zesco United 2 – 1 Stade Malien (Agg. 5 – 2)
Zambian champions Zesco United swept aside a challenge from Malian side Stade Malien to qualify to the group stage of the CAF Champions via 5 – 2 aggregate scoreline.
Carrying a comfortable 3 – 1 lead from the first leg, Zesco went ahead in the 5th minute through Kenyan international Jesse Were.
The Malian’s pulled  a goal back in the 55th minute through Issaka but the George Lwandamina coached ensured maximum points with a second goal on the day scored by Maybin Mwaba who benefitted from and Idriss Mbombo assist.
This is the second time that the Ndola based side will be playing in the lucrative group stage of the tournament having participated for the first time in 2009.
Stade Malien will now drop into the CAF Confederations Cup competition.
