An injury-time Heritier Nkonko header helped Kabwe Warriors to a 2-1 win over Zesco United at Kabwe’s Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The Magnificent People’s team welcomed the defending Champions hoping to get back to winning ways while Zesco was targeting collecting maximum points and moving to the summit of the log table.
The match was full of action from the word go with both Jacob Banda and Scot Ngokene needing to be alert from the onset.
However, the first goal of the game finally came four minutes into the second half as Jimmy Ndhlovu connected well with a Sydney Siame cross to head the ball past Jacob Banda who could have done better but was slow to react.
Zesco United pushed for the equalizer and managed to draw level in the 82nd minute, Second half substitute Jesse Jackson Were netting from close range.
Heritier Nkok, however,r had other ideas as he headed home Jimmy Ndhlovu’s corner deep in additional time to seal a 2-1 win.
Zesco United have now only recorded two victories in their last 13 matches in all Competitions as their ‘bad patch’ continues.
The win takes Kabwe Warriors to sixth place on the log while Zesco United remain fourth on the log.

ZESCO’S MIDFIELD CRISIS WILL COST THEM THE LEAGUE .
Zesco united started this season on fire and won about 10 games straight, the key features of there early season exploits was the box to box qualities of Thabani Kamusoko and the ability of Anthony Akumu to sense danger and stop play when Zesco united were under a counter attack threat . Zesco’s problems started when Kamusoko first got injured and we saw Zesco going a number of games without winning then boom Anthony Akumu leaves for Kaizer chiefs and is not replaced with a solid defensive midfielder .if youve watched Zesco you will notice that they overcrowd and isolate pitch zone when means they need a midfielder who is both a defensive midfielder and a registor .A registor means a deep lying play-maker in football terms and this role on the pitch requires a player with abundance of energy which Zesco united lack right now. Khowani Mtonga with all his experience is not the player he was 4 years ago and Mischeck Chaila lacks the energy .Some people might argue that they brought in Tafaswa Rusike from Zanaco but i think his the type of player who you want exploiting space not defending and covering space .Adrian Chama is a good ball playing defender but lacks intelligence to play that switch from left to right when Zesco have overcrowded one part of the pitch and have isolated space for a full back in this instance Simon Silwamba to run in.
Anthony Akumu was the biggest lose of this window and Zesco will surely find it hard to get back on track without him cause he brought a lot to the table.Zesco united will have to act quick by Bringing in a good defensive midfielder or George Luwandamina will have to adjust his tactics to maximize the abilities of the players he has.
Spot on but it’s also the lack of tactical ability on the part of the technical bench relying and hoping for miracles from a team full of overaged and tired legs you get exposed hence where we are today
