Zesco United captain confident of defending Super League title

Zesco United captain Jacob Banda is confident his team will retain the Zambia Super League title. The seven time Super League Champions lead stream A with the likes of Green Buffaloes.

Banda is however alive to the fact that it won’t be a walk in the park for them but they have to work hard.

“Of course Zesco will defend the league.We just have to retain the league. We playing very well and will just have to work hard without complacency,” he said.

Before the league kicks off Zesco United will be engaged in the curtain raiser for the league, The Samuel ‘Zoom ‘ Ndhlovu Charity shield against Nkana. Banda is anticipating a tough match when they two lock horns this coming Saturday.

 

“It will be a tough game because Nkana is big team. They beat us last season but this time we have to beat them, ” he said.

To win their eighth title they have to top Stream A ahead of Green Buffaloes and Zanaco and then square off against leaders of stream B in a play off.
