Zesco United and Green Eagles returned to winning ways while Forest Rangers suffered their third loss of the season as the Zambia Super League week 17 came alive this afternoon.
With ABSA Cup slots at stake teams took their week 17 games seriously this afternoon. Zesco United suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Young Green Eagles last weekend, but that defeat behind them as they came from a goal down to beat Buildcon 3-1 in a Ndola derby.
Najeeb Abbas put Team Kopala in the lead just after seven minutes from close range but Thabani Kamusoko leveled matters in the 23rd minute from inside the area. Brian Mwila was unfortunate to direct a brilliant Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba free-kick into his own goal to put the hosts in the lead in the 50th minute.
Young striker Enock Sakala Jnr came from the bench to seal the result for Zega Mambo who move to third place with 28 points and qualify for the ABSA Cup with a game in hand.
In the early kick-off at the same venue, Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Indeni, and Kabwe Warriors played out to a goalless draw.
At President Stadium, Kabwe Warriors came back from a goal down twice to force a draw away in Kabwe, 2-2 the match finished. Tshite Mweshi with a brace for Leopards while Frederick Mwimanzi and Obrey Chellah scored for the Zambia Army sponsored side.
At Nkoloma Stadium, Joseph Phiri canceled out, Moses Phiri’s opener as the Bankers and the Airmen played out to a 1-1 draw in the match anticipated Lusaka derby following a lot of Social media buzz and hype.
In Choma, A penalty from Amity Shamende and a Collins Mulenga goal secured a hard-fought 2-1 win for Green Eagles against relegation-threatened Lumwana Radiants to end a four-match winless run.

Sensational Zanaco, Zesco United, and Forest Rangers have sealed their qualification for the ABSA Cup, Lusaka Dynamos can seal their qualification with any result apart from a loss tomorrow when they host Young Green Eagles while Prison Leopards and, Kabwe Warriors have to wait for games in hand to be done away with to confirm their qualification.
