Zesco United defender Bornwell Silengo will be travel to India for specialized treatment on his knee following an injury he sustained during the CAF champion’s league first leg against Guinea side AS Kaloum at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in March.
In an update on the injuries in the team, zescounitedfc reported that Silengo is currently waiting for his visa and will be escorted by team physiotherapist Chuma Mwiinga and his operation is scheduled to take place at Fortis Hospital this October.
“The evaluation on the patient revealed the following; a total rapture of his anterior cruciate ligament and a degenerate ulcer in the femoral groove. I recommend that he has an anterior cruciate segment repair which can be done arthroscopically in South-Africa or India,” part of the letter by Dr Mulla of St. John Paul II Orthopaedic mission hospital (Italian hospital).
Zesco team doctor Stephen Mbewe also gave updates on striker Humphrey Maseneko and defender Nyambe Mulenga.
“Maseneko is recovering well and we are waiting for the doctors from the Italian hospital to review him and tell us the way forward, as for Nyambe, he has made really steady progress and we have continued to monitor his recovery process,” he told www.zescounitedfc.com
