Zesco United returned to the summit of the MTN/FAZ Super League on Sunday opening a one-point lead, following a 3-0 win over Forest Rangers in a Ndola derby.
Goals from veteran striker Winston Kalengo, Zimbabwean midfielder Tafadzwa Rusike and young lanky forward, Enock Sakala junior were enough for Team Ya Ziko to silence their noisy neighbors, winning only their fourth derby against Fole Malembe since 2015, in eleven meetings.
Zesco United went ahead in the 12th minute as Kalengo pounced on a loose ball in the box after Forest defenders failed to clear a Solomon Sakala effort inside the penalty box.
Tafadzwa Rusike added a second two minutes later, scoring from close range to put Zesco United in control of the match.
Substitute, Enock Sakala Jnr who came on in the first half to replace Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba who was forced out due to injury made it three-nil in the 69th minute with a brilliant strike from outside the 18-yard area, 3-0.
Zega Mambo held to beat Forest Rangers 3-0 to move to the summit of the log table with 34 points.
In the early kick-off at the same venue Team Kopala, Buildcon edged, Young Green Eagles 2-1 to move to sixth place tied on 28 points with Kabwe Warriors but with a better goal difference.
Brian Mwila put Team Kopala in the lead with a fine half volley, bicycle-like strike following a delicious ball from Musonda Kapembwa. Patrick Ngoma came from the bench to add a second from close range.
Young Green Eagles pulled one back towards the end but Buildcon held on to win the match 2-1.

Zqmfoot ,is this the same Brian Mwila ( now Buildcon ) who used to play for Zambia under Wedson N then went to south Africa and later Austria?
If it is, that’s good news especially since young Emmanuel Mayyuka is also finding the back of the net.
Also wondering if its the same young Mukuka Mulenga who helped P Dynamoes clobber Nkana FC??
Apologies typo…should read Zamfoot…
