ZESCO Ndola Girls have confirmed the signing of Copper Queens defender Pauline Zulu, boosting their squad as the champions prepare for the second half of the ZPL Women’s Super League season.
The Ndola-based club announced the arrival of the 21-year-old centre-back from ZANACO Ladies, completing a move that had been earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew
Zulu, born on 3 October 2004, is regarded as one of Zambia’s brightest defensive prospects and has already represented the country at Under-17, Under-20 and senior levels. She was part of the Copper Queens squad at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In a statement, ZESCO Ndola Girls described Zulu as a modern, versatile defender, highlighting her pace, composure and ability to contribute going forward.
Despite a high-profile move to Zanaco Ladies in January 2025, Zulu struggled for regular playing time during the first half of the season. The switch to Ndola is expected to offer her a fresh start and a chance to revive the form that made her a regular in the national team.
At club level, Zulu has previously featured for Pataaki Football Club and Elite Ladies, while her honours include winning the U20 COSAFA Championship in 2022 and the Senior Women’s COSAFA Championship in 2024.
ZESCO Ndola Girls will hope the defender’s experience and athleticism strengthen their back line as they seek to retain their league title.
