Kansanshi Dynamos bolster squad with triple signing ahead of season run-in

Kansanshi Dynamos have strengthened their squad with the signing of three new players as the club prepares for the second half of the 2025/26 MTN Super League season.

The Solwezi-based side have completed the acquisition of defensive midfielder Kelvin Kapumbu, who joins the club following his most recent spell with Konkola Blades. Kapumbu has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the current campaign.

Dynamos have also added attacking firepower with the arrival of Malawian striker Zeliat Nkhoma, who joins from Kamuzu Barracks of the Malawi Super League on a two-year deal. The forward is expected to provide additional options in the final third as the club looks to push for improved league fortunes.

Completing the trio of new signings is attacking midfielder Patrick Macheso, who has joined as a free agent after last featuring for Malawi giants Silver Strikers. Macheso has also committed his future to Kansanshi Dynamos on a two-year contract.

Alongside the new arrivals, the club has confirmed contract extensions for several members of the existing squad. Brian Mwila has agreed a short-term extension until the end of the season, while Titus Chivunga and Julius Mwanza have both signed new deals that will keep them at the club for a further year.

However, the squad overhaul has also seen a number of departures. Timothy Sakala has left the club following the expiry of his contract, while Kelvin Chisamba and Christopher Katongo have parted ways with Dynamos by mutual consent.

Elsewhere, Mathews Mwale and Rabson Mumba have completed moves to Aguilar Stars, Ackson Ndalama has joined Chirundu United on loan, and Cornelius Mwendela has been loaned out to Chimbishi.

Kansanshi Dynamos say the changes are part of a wider strategy aimed at strengthening the squad and improving results in the second half of the season.

Speaking on behalf of the club, General Secretary Mweshi Mupeta welcomed the new signings and thanked the departing players for their service, wishing them well in the next stage of their careers.

Dynamos will hope the refreshed squad can provide momentum as they continue their MTN Super League campaign in the weeks ahead.
