ZESCO Ndola girls out to maintain top slot as Indeni visit out of form Nkwazi

With only two games remaining before the 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League reaches halfway, this weekend yet again has got mouthwatering encounters lined up as we await girls to be separated from women in the second half of this Inaugural elite women’s league.

Four games have already been confirmed for this weekend with log leaders ZESCO Ndola Girls taking on one of the tail bearers in Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women Football Club while Queens Academy, Mufulira Wanderers, and Nkwazi Queens all face tricky ties as they seek redemption.

Ndola’s Trade Fair Grounds will host a lunchtime kick-off match between ZESCO Ndola Girls and ZISD. Zegalicious are bubbling with confidence after their impressive midweek victory over Lusaka Dynamos and will hope to carry on from that form when they host struggling ZISD who have not had a very good start to the season recording only one win and a draw out of nine games played and sit second from bottom with 4 points, 14 behind log leaders ZESCO.

This match will kick off at 13:00hrs.

Second-placed Indeni Roses are making their third visit to Lusaka and this time around locking horns with Nkwazi Queens at Edwin Imboela Stadium.

The Roses have 17 points, 6 above Nkwazi who have been inconsistent in the league this far going into this game losing five games compared to one loss for Indeni.

Nkwazi has not won any of their last 4 games and coming up against a free-scoring Indeni is just another tall order for Coach Patrick Tembo and the team in this crunch tie that will kick-off at 15:00hrs.

Meanwhile, in an early kick-off match in Kabwe, Queens Academy will hope to redeem themselves when they play host to a rejuvenated Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA) Queens who have won back-to-back games.

The Queens of Central Province succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Police Dove Queens while BUSA defeated Nkwazi Queens 4-2, so this will be an interesting match especially that both sides have one of the youngest teams in the league mostly comprising of the Under-17 age group.

The game will be played at Jasmine Grounds and will kick-off at 10:00hrs.

On Sunday, 21st May 2021 Shinde Stadium on the Copperbelt will be the venue as Mufulira Wanderers Women’s Football Club welcomes Lusaka Dynamos Ladies FC in an early kick-off match at 10:00hrs.

Mufulira Wanderers have been a hard nut to beat at home and coming up against The Elite Ladies who suffered back-to-back defeats will be an interesting match to watch out for.

On paper, The Elite Ladies who are in search of their first win on the Copperbelt look set to grab maximum points especially that they are 11 points ahead of Wanderers who are also struggling in the league, however, anything can happen in this game.
