Justine Zulu’s 28th minute goal on Saturday afternoon was enough to propel Zesco into the first round of the CAF Champions League after the Ndola side over came Mbabane Swallows of Swazilanda.
Zesco won the two legged tie on a 2 – 1 aggregate scoreline after the two teams drew 1 – 1 in Swaziland.
Zulu, a midfielder, is the one who scored the away goal for Zesco in the first leg played in Mbabane.
Zesco will now likely to meet AS Kaloum of Guinea who beat Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast 2 – 1 in the first leg and will be looking to finish the job when the two meet on Sunday evening in a game to be played in Bamako Mali owing to the threat of Ebola in Guinea.
Unlike earlier reported, Kaloum’s qualification has not been confirmed as the game has not been played.
Zesco Utd XI v Mbabane Swallows:
Jacob Banda – Daut Musekwa, Ayo Oluwafemi, Kondwani Mtonga, Emmanuel Mathias – Justin Zulu, John Chingandu, Misheck Chaila, Jackson Mwanza, Clatous Chama (John Chingandu),Winston Kalengo (Matthews Nkhowani)
Thanks Zega ! U jamb done us proud
I don’t think Zesco will go far in this tournament. The Guinean club AS Kaloum will eliminate them. They have a very poor away record, typical of Zambian clubs including the national team. It will be a miracle for Zesco to beat that Guinean club.
Billy don’t under rate Zesco United because in my opinion they have a very big chance of prevailing against Kaloum.
Ba Shi Mwewa, I have nothing against Zesco really. I have respect for this club and is well managed. But I don’t see them going far. Thats my opinion. Southern African teams need to up their game.
Well done guys,
With what I saw this afternoon I can confidently say zesco won’t go far. I have nothing against zesco but truth be told they are very wasteful infront of goal.
Zesco.will beat that Guinean team home and away
zesco up to da end & am now waiting 4 ma team POWER DYNAMOS to umiliate el khatoum of sudan go team ZAMBIA go
HUMM!! -JBS POWER DYNAMOS ARE DOWN TO A GOAL TO NIHIL FIRST LEG.
I BELIEVE- AKWASI APPEAH -THE FORMER GHANAIAN BLACK STARS COACH
IS HEADING THE KC KHARTOUMS CLUB..IT WILL BE A GOOD MATCH..
SIMUBERNARD, IF KHARTOUM SCORES FIRST GOAL THE MATCH WILL BE DIFFICULT FOR POWER DYNAMOS..
Hope the coach has noticed Justine Zulu, owing to the fact that Sinkala is not fit.
He still needs to work hard. He can do better.
Zesco has to up there game if they need to go far in this competion the strikers are too wastefull and coach has to read the game and make tactical changes
Zegga need to be wary of this Kaloum team.Knock out Sewe is no mean feat.
not an inspiring scoreline by zesco. if you can only manage one goal against a swazi team what hope do you have against the bigger teams? zesco is going nowhere.
Thats my point as well. Zesco should have finished that Swazi team in Swaziland. And they had to struggle with a 1-0 win in Ndola against an amateur side.
Zesco will reach th group stages, all wat thy need is to sharpen th attack.
Alex NGONGA GIVES POWER DYNAMOS ONE GOAL UP IN THE FIRST HALF.
Is the power game live on tv or radio
