CAF CL: Zesco look to finish semi final job against Sundowns

Zambian champions Zesco United will today play Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in the second leg semi final match of the 2016 CAF Champions League.

Zesco United carry a 2 – 1 advantage into the game after they picked a slender win in the first leg played in Ndola last weekend.

The Ndola side need a draw to progress but but could progress if they lose by a goal but as long as they score more than one away goal.

Having only lost twice away in this year’s competition coach George Lwandamina will be confident that his team will pick the desired result.

Zesco have scored 23 goals in 13 games in Africa this year conceding 15 times.

If statistics are anything to go by, the confident Zambian side will score in today’s game and it is difficulty to see them concede more than two goals.

The team welcomes back high scoring midfielder Clatous Chama who missed the first leg owing to suspension.

In Sundowns, Zesco face a side which is less than confident going by recent results as they have lost their last two games in this competition.

They were wired 3 – 1 away against Enyimba before their loss to Zesco.

Sundowns however remain unbeaten at home in the competition and in Khama Billiat, Keagan Dolly and Leonardo Castro they have a potent strike force that can unlock any defence when they are having a good day at the office.

Castro is however a doubt for the match.

Zesco Probable Starting XI: Jacob Banda, Simon Silwimba, Ayo Oluwafemi, David Odhiambo,  Ben Bahn, Misheck Chaila,  Clatous Chama, Kondwani Mtonga, Jackson Mwanza, Jesse Were,  John Chingandu
