Midfielder Kondwani Mtonga, says Zesco United know what is at stake and are determined to finish the job in Pretoria on Saturday, against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zesco and Sundowns clash in the final leg decider of their 2016 Caf Champions League semi-final two-leg tie in Pretoria, with the visitors’ enjoying a 2-1 first leg win in Ndola on September 17.
“We played the first half and we are now playing the second half and we still have work to do,” Mtonga said.
“We are going there for a win. We cannot go there and just sit back and depend on the home result. We have to go there with a winning mentally and we are going there for a win.”
A draw, though, will suffice for Zesco to see them make their debut Caf Champions League final.
“Morale is high and everyone is ready and knows the job at stake,” Mtonga added.
Zesco left Zambia on Wednesday afternoon for Johannesburg and the team included influential midfielder Clatous Chama who is back after missing the first leg victory following his two-match suspension.
Also in the team is defensive midfielder Misheck Chaila who is one booking away from missing the final after picking up a yellow in the first leg in Ndola.
Meanwhile, Sundowns kept the tie alive when midfielder Khama Billiat scored an 88th minute goal to cut Zesco’s lead after Jackson Mwanza’s brace in the 53rd and 56th minute at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
